Opioids question bout first time vicodin use

I tried vicodin a couple days ago and had a terrible reaction that i don't quite understand. I bit in half and swallowed 3 5/325's throughout the night, i also smoked cannabis with it which i am a moderate user of. Anyway, the next morning i woke up feeling dizzy so i decided to get up and get water and the minute i got downstairs and into the bathroom i started feeling extremely nauseous, weak, my body temp. hot and then cold with chilling sweats, and i was shaking badly. I ate some bread and laid back down, slept all day until it was night when i finally felt better. Was this maybe an allergic reaction or a certain component of the medication that reacted poorly with my body. I'm sorry if this sounds stupid or is in the wrong place.I want to know why this happened and if i should risk trying it again or maybe try a different method of intake such as cold water extraction? thank you much for any help.
 
If you have no tolerance to opioids, it's common to have that reaction when doing them for the first time. It's not a high dose by any means, but you may be sensitive plus you broke them up and used cannabis with them.

Agreed, I have had that reaction before several times when I first started taking pain meds orally. If you ease your way into them maybe just swallow or snort 1 every hour or so and stay hydrated and really ease your way into it then its not as bad.
 
I miss those days (maybe day) like the one who got away. Yeah it was normal.
 
Yes I must agree that tolerance might have caused it, however, it was really a little bit. And Vicodin is not that strong on that dosage.
Plus the effects posted above happened on the following day (?)
I´d say you could either be extremely sensitive to Vicodin but wouldn´t discard the possibility of a body allergic reaction.
 
Take a lower dose with an antihistamine next time. Lots of people feel sick with their first use of opiates. Wasn't the case for me, love straight away <3 Or you can take this as a sign opiates aren't for you; which would be a good choice because their very addicting.
 
Thanks everyone for the help. I am going to try them again considering I bought 30 of them. I figured since I tired oxycodone with no significant effect except for some drowsiness that vicodin might be better. Do you think removing the acetaminophen with CWE would be better or is that really not the issue?
 
It could be an allergy, I know of people who can't take it because they become extremely disoriented off just 1 pill or have other symptoms of a classic allergic reaction.
 
My lady gets "hangovers" when she takes opiates, and she's definitely not new to them. 10mg will not only floor her, but the next day she always says she feels weird.
 
For me opiates are great for hangovers. They would get me out of bed.
Even if I had to score them first.
I guess everyone is different..
