What drugs can I do after a psychotic break?

So, long story short, I'm addicted to pot. After smoking it on and off for two years(mostly on the second year), I had my first(mild) psychotic break. I quit for a while, but continued to smoke some nasty(read: bad) shit every once in a while a few months later. Probably spiked. The shit I was smoking before my first psychotic episode was probably spiked too. Someone (who never looked at the bud, though) said it was probably PCP, but I have no way of knowing. Anyway, I've had a series of episodes of psychosis with delusions because, after a few months or so, I would go back to toking. I'm typing this as I'm fighting the craving to score. I was wondering if anybody could tell me if there are any drugs that are safe for me to do. Here's a list of all of the drugs I've done, and their effects on me:

(Crack)cocaine: Love it, but I did so much of it that it messed up my nervous system(according to my psychiatrist) and it made my eyes look up constantly, and I could only look down for a second or two(EDIT: Called Oculogyric crisis). This lasted a while, but went away after a while. Not at once. It decreased in frequency and intensity until now it hasn't happened for a while. At its worst, it made my eyes hurt to look up for so long.

LSD: Did it once. Loved it. Probably not the best choice for a guy like me, though. :P
Shrooms: Did them once. Got some duds, not much happened.
DOB: Same as the shrooms.
I'm including alcohol in here, which is fine with me. Does what it says it does on the label. :P
Cough Syrup(Forgot what's in it. DM something?): Used to trip on this in my early teens :P good times, but shitty trip if I'm being honest with myself. Also, the last time I did it, it was when I decided to try life off of my medication(my medication is temporary, but temporary means a year or 2. I still haven't finished my course, after starting again), and it gave me another episode.
I want something that I can get high on on occasion, that won't give me another episode. Something like pot would be preferred. But anything that has a good high will do. Preferably something that I don't have to smoke, although I'll smoke it if it's worth it. Huffing is a definite no.

As a side note, has anybody read those articles that says the CBD in Cannabis can treat psychotic symptons? Anybody know if this is true? Any personal experience with this?

I doubt your ganja was spiked, first of all. Weed made you paranoid, don't have to blame some other exotic drugs. Maybe i'm misinformed and it's different in USA, but I find the idea of various sources providing free drugs without telling their customers as a bit odd.

Maybe you should try eating benzos (ie. valium, xanax), they chill you out and do the opposite of psychosis. Just don't get into the habit I suppose.

Regarding CBD - apparently it works but I think most strains of weed have much higher THC levels so it cancels it out. No personal experience unfortunately though.

Its probably not a good idea for you to do ANY drugs, but you are in somewhat the same situation as me.

I did lots of stimulants and psychedelics for years, and now my brain and body cannot take the stress of those drugs, and I have several long lasting negative effects such as HPPD, anxiety, heart palpitations and reduced lung capacity.

Now, I pretty much just do downers. Some of the drugs that I feel are safe (er) for me to take, and that would probably interest you are:

GHB - The most euphoric downer IMO, feels like alcohol mixed with mdma. BE CAREFUL it is easy to OD on, take it slow.

OPIATES - Such as Poppy seed/Poppy pod tea (which you acquire quite easily),codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine ETC are also drugs that will calm you down and not worsen you symptoms. On opiates you feel warm and content. They are very addictive. (NOTE: If you get addicted and have to go through withdrawal, that absolutely WILL worsen your symptoms.)

KRATOM - I love this drug, its does very little damage to the body, people in south east asia use it every day for years and stay in pretty good health. It feels like an opiate with stimulative properties. My favorite strain is Maeng Da, you can order it for pretty cheap online, its completely legal. It is addictive, be careful.

BENZOS - such as xanax are great to calm you down when you have anxiety, which is when I mainly use them. Some people enjoy using them recreationally as well.

KAVA KAVA - This drug is also legal and available online, it is supposed to be very relaxing like a benzo, when I tried it I found it very powerful but it felt too much like cannabis to me (and cannabis makes me very anxious), so for that reason I haven't used it since. You may like this drug, I'd say give it a try. You may have to take it several times to get an effect, it has a reverse tolerance. Make sure you order FRESH GROUND ROOT and nothing else.

Methaqualone - It is unlikely that you will ever come across this drug, but it is another very euphoric downer similar to GHB in my experience that was widely prescribed in the 70s. It is still very popular in south africa, where most of it comes from)

the "Z" drugs - Are non benzo anti-anxeity/sleeping pills such as Zopiclone and Zolpidem that can have some recreational value. I have tried zopiclone and it made me feel really drunk with a lot of added confusion and a horrible taste in my mouth. It was an interesting experience but I don't plan on repeating it.

GOOD LUCK!

(And don't forget, I am an idiot for continuing to use drugs after they have damaged me how they have - and you shouldn't either!!)

Why do people think that weed is completely harmless ? It's well documented that weed is associated with mental health problems.

You experience a psychotic episode after 2 years of smoking weed and blame it on the 'weed being spiked' - Nonsense, your psychotic episode was from your chronic usage.

@ Drum and nAON- maybe I phrased it wrong, I'm not saying the pot wasn't the cause of what happened to me. I just felt that I had to mention that where I'm from, spiking weed is pretty common(and not with anything exotic. It's usually nasty shit that you can find around the house).

@ iameatingjam - Thanks a lot, this is very useful. I agree with you, it's a major risk to do anything at all, which is why I might not. But on the off chance that I am going to, I thought maybe I should find out what would be least harmful.

Why someone would want to 'spike' weed with some nasty shit around the house is downright psychotic thinking if you ask me.

I don't want to know what town this is you live in, but I feel that you should set aside a good 6 months of researching drugs using sites like here, drugs-forum, and Erowid. You probably shouldn't touch any sort of drug or intoxicant until you feel you are in a decent mental state on the regular. Why not spend some time expanding your mind, so when you do return to using you won't even be at risk of leading yourself to coming within an arm's reach of weed laced with anything. Btw, it would be such a poor choice for someone (from the perspective of making a profit) to lace weed with a chemical such as pcp. Why someone would go through the trouble surely can be described as 'psychotic' thinking in my books.

Anyways you want to start safe? Well I'm afraid marijuana is the safest my friend. It seems you're in touch with the wrong people.

I'm afraid that if you are encountering such trouble with something as benign as marijuana, recommending anything else would just seem wrong.

why would your weed be "spiked" saying weird shit like that makes me think you're still psychotic. Honestly - why would someone put PCP in your pot lol?

On another note, regarding your comments on LSD/Mushrooms. I've known a few people over the years, who are diagnosed schizophrenics and psychotics and they've never had any issues with psychedelics, in their own words - when I describe the normal sort of paranoia people experience - they simply say that is how they feel regardless - it's like that side is just lost in with their general sense of being and all the experience is the euphoria, sense of one-ness, etc..

That said - I'm not going to condone it (LSD) for someone who has a history of psychosis.. but from anecdotal experiences of taking thoses kinds of drugs with the mentally ill, that is the feedback I've heard.

if i could just comment here, without malice; no.

for someone who obviously has a certain additive tendency, recommending benzos are not a good move. they certainly do counteract elements of psychosis, but it is that counteraction itself that is singularly addictive. and if/when you do pick up a habit, the withdrawals are nothing to joke about.

i would say stick to downers, but that's a stretch. things like opiates and benzos are fantastic, until you run out of them. the withdrawals themselves are enough to trigger serious episodes. if you are suffering from psychotic episodes a sober life is your safest bet friend.

I agree with everything here, especially the last sentence.

If you did feel the need for something, maybe kratom. Please research it first, but it's fairly benign as well (compared to other drugs, and it's legal even)

I am going through a period of abstinence, which I'm using to research drugs. That's a good idea, I will search on the other websites as well. About the PCP thing, I'm just repeating what my friend told me(without even looking at the pot). I side with all of you, I highly doubt it was spiked with PCP too. But I just mentioned it as a possibility. As for the fact that it might be spiked with other stuff, that's something that the stoner/druggie community in my town agree on; whether there is truth in it or not I can't say.

Thanks for being honest with yourself
FYI I used to do weed and hash. Let about ten yrs pass. Thought I'd try it- panic attack both times. Thought I was dying. No I was not scared of get busted. At first I too thought it must be spiked as I could handle it before and it's not supposed to make you anxious ! But after researching I see how common that is. It doesn't make you weak.
