...Is it because the Chancellor hasnt lost out in Income Tax, NI, Vat etc in a drug case where as the serial killer lorry driver has being paying his way, he's probably given some leniency for offing those scummy Tax dodging, Benefit claiming strèet workers 8)

They now count drugs as part of gdp in the uk (along with prostitution) - they estimate the amount of money spent by households on drugs (that's why we had to pay that extra bit to the EU recently). Plus drug dealer profits do go into society, giving vat on the way (on posh cars/flat screens etc). Add to that the GDP/tax coming from the world's central drug money laundering operation, the city of london (financial crash notwithstanding).
I think a big motivation to keep the drug laws as they are is class prejudice - a carte blanche excuse for the police to pull anyone in a scruffy car/with long hair/black skin etc. Drug laws are much less rigorously enforced on rich people like 'tooting' Gideon Osbourne - laws, like taxes, are for little people.

I like the idea of MAID Safe, a new decentralised type of internet with encryption built-in at the heart (a sort of child of tor and bitcoin, but more besides) - this seems like it could make for better online freedom in the future - if it's ever allowed to happen...

I wonder if there'll be a repeat of the crazy price peaks again. Might sit on them for a bit and see what happens, a bit optimistic maybe, but FA to loose, i could have made £47,000 grand last time this happened, instead i made £3,250 profit (by cashing in during what i presumed was gonna be the peak)which i was extremely chuffed about anyway.
