Let's make it clear that I am not talking about Ambien and it's own hallucinogenic effects. I am just wondering if anybody else has experienced visual distortions and weird existential feelings off benzos? Clonazepam is the biggest offender for me, and when i combined it with acid i felt like I was vieweing everything from each possible perspective at the same time.

I hear ya- one time i got way too fucked up on coke and so my buddy gave me 2mg Ativan... i was TRIPPING. Balls.
2 drugs that normally don't make you trip, make you trip when you combine them apparently.

I had the mental effects of acid, and the visual effects of marijuana, plus the dampened coke high and anxiolytic effect

Taking clonazepam with LSD will relax you during the trip and take the edge of the stimulation but it's highly unlikey it would do anything to make you hallucinate any more than what the acid was already doing to you.

I've never got any hallucinations from benzos, never even experienced visual distortions from them. I just had a really really trippy dream when I passed out on Xanax one time.

Maybe because you combined clonazepam with acid you get flashbacks when you take it again, I've heard that weed has a tendency to do that but not benzos.

What kind of hallucinations do u get?

2 people I know told me they have "tripped" off of a high dose of ativan...but it only happened one time to both of them.

I've never done LSD but I always said to myself "If I ever do LSD I'm taking 3mg of Xanax before I take the LSD"

Benzos can severely dampen a trip, but its possible that the right dose could have helped you relax enough to take things to higher levels... modifying your trip

The only time I've had "hallucinations" from benzos is when I've taken high amounts and nodded off into a really vivid dream. I was still sat upright, but kept drifting in and out of the dream, which was really confusing. When I'd suddenly wake up from it, I'd still be in a dreamy state and I'd still be talking to the people I was talking to in the dream, even though they weren't really there. I used to get that quite a lot, depending on what dosage I'd taken. Bizarre and confusing, but interesting at the same time.

When I had an Ativan/alcohol OD things would duplicate then blend together and things were just weird.

ambien is actually not a benzo but it shares similar properties. i never had hallucinations but when i take medium to high doses of ativan i get the double vision kinda like when you drink a lot of alcohol. i was driving home one day and didnt even feel high anymore but started seeing double. 2 cars instead of 1 coming the other way. lines on the road would double. i just closed 1 eye and i could see much more clearly LOL. i dont drive like that anymore because i dont like endangering my life or others not to mention the consequences of killing someone or even just getting busted for driving impaired. i have heard people say they hallucinated though from benzos. i only get the double vision myself. sometimes minor visual distortions. i think it's more from the hypnotic effect. it doesnt happen to my until it's wearing off. it was nothing compared to acid or mushrooms.

I get hallucinations during w/d too.. but not while using it; & i was up to 30mg/day of etizolam (threshold/intro dose is 0.25-0.5mg)

that shit fuckin freaks me out.. "shadow people"--i tend not to believe in that shit, but, why would people lie about this shit? <shutters>

Clonazepam does nothing for me really. I have been on and off it for years. I did once snort it and I liked that. Actually, I think I shall do some now.

During my etizolam addiction phase, I'd take tons of etiz and stay up for days in a manic state. By day 3 I'd have full-on open eye hallucinations. Same thing happened once with phenazepam. (I'm not bipolar but apparently become manic on benzos).

Benzos aren't drugs to take lightly. I've got tons of horror stories but will leave it at that.

^ Haha, good point. Made me laugh.

It's interesting that some of you get hallucinations and the likes then you wd, but there is nothing odd about it at all.
It holds true for most drugs (if not all) that then you abuse them and then withdrawal, you'll see a worsening in the exact same areas that the drugs were helping you out with in the beginning.
In the case of benzos, just look at the common withdrawal symptoms, most of them is something that benzos deal with very effectively when taken by a person who is not yet addicted.
Anxiety, insomnia, tremors, psychotic symptoms and so on. All things that benzos have a great effect on but when withdrawing, the exact same things comes through and most of the time a lot worse than before the addiction developed.
