Took a week off of benzos last monday, then to 4 mg lorazepam last saturday, 6mg Monday, tuesday took 10mg lorazepam, today I took 6mg lorazepam and feel nothing :p wtf, I felt the original 2mg of lorazepam when I took it tuesday now I don't feel Jack shiiit, why can't I feel the effects of this pill this is bullshiiit

How long of a break would be needed for me to feel 2mgs again, as I said I felt the 2/10mgs I took yesterday, but today I don't feel jack shit.

You already answered your own question in the title - tolerance development. Welcome to the dark side of abusing benzodiazepines
Tolerance to these drugs develops fast and decreases very slowly, so if you want to get a good high going, then theres only one way and thats a long break from all benzos. Much longer than one week. Even with a long break, your tolerance will jump right back up close to where you are now if you abuse the shit out of it, so you have to lower your dose to what works and then stick to that dose, increasing the dose in order to reach the desired effects wont get you anywhere Im afraid, only on a very short term.

Yea I had just gone a week off of 6mgs of xanax a day and I'm not feeling shit off this Ativan and I thought I would because I had taken a week off of xan.
It still does calm me down and all, but I no longer feel that feeling of wonderment when I take it. Its hard because I keep wanting to re-dose because I am really not feeling shit, and I know if I dose too high I can black out..

Nah, its not long enough when it comes to these drugs.
If you didn´t have any withdrawals from that high a dose of Alprazolam (?), then you can´t be that deep in yet and if I were you, I would try and use that as my motivation for taking a long break ´cause its not too late for you, not by a long shot, but if you keep using like this, then soon, it will be very difficult to quit or even take a break.
Try 3-4 months without, start low when your done with the break, work your way up to what fits you and then make that dose your maximum dosage and stick to it! Much harder done than said, but that is what you have to do if you want to get some positive effects out of these drugs while not getting addicted or develop a huge ass tolerance. And of cause, dont take it for several days at a time. Keep it a 1-2 times a week thing (you might even get into trouble with two times a week, better stick with one time, better safe than sorry)
Good luck man, I hope you don´t end up being trapped in benzo land like so many others before you.

My tolerance has never actually decreased. I need it everyday, and have them prescribed since it´s impossible to turn around, at this point.

Yea I really agree with Sourtulip's statement but it is just so hard to not go back to my room and pop 2 more ativans so I can hopefully feel the wanted effect.

i will start off by asking are you using benzos for therapeutic purposes to assuage you anxiety, or are you taking your benzos to get high? it sounds to me that you are abusing your benzos to reach a high, and i guess i will never understand why people abuse benzos on a daily basis to get high. dont get my wrong i love taking 20mgs of diazepam with a good shot of heroin, so i abuse it. but alone they dont really give me much. it is also bad because god forbid you actually need some benzos at some point in life, your tolerance will be so high that they wont work on you. not only that, but benzos actually make your anxiety worse in the long wrong, even when you stop completely. benzos are notorious for horrible withdrawals and super fucking long PAWS. just food for thought...and now to answer your question....

well everyone develops and loses a tolerance at different rates. for me and opiates, even using once a week, i eventually got back to the tolerance that i used to have when i was using opiates every day!!! taking a week break works for the first time i get high after a week, but by the third consecutive day of getting high i am right back to where my tolerance was and probably even higher than the tolerance i had before i had the week break.

if you cant wait for more than a couple of weeks, i suggest using once or twice a week like i do. after a week i am able to enjoy a high without having to take a surprisingly large dose. however, i have gotten to a point in my life where i would rather have more sober days than high days. believe it or not, i usually get more fulfillment and joy from the days i am sober compared to the days where i reach for artificial euphoria. dont get me wrong the high is nice, but it will never be that amazing high like i used to get when i was all strung out and shit. even if you wait a long ass time, i dont think it will ever reset back to zero like before you started using. i say a 3-4 weeks of consecutive sobriety to get you close to baseline, but who knows for sure how long you will have to wait until your tolerance basically goes back to like before you started. i wish i could tell you that your tolerance will gone in 234 hours, 47 minutes, and 36 seconds, but i cant lol.

Okay, Im a little confused now.

I thought your first post were ment to say that you had been off of benzos completely for 10 years.
Or are you saying that you have been on benzos for 10 years, starting in 2004?

Yea after this dose I think I'm going to start only dosing 1x or 2x a week to get my tolerance back to normal. I do use these pills for anxiety but use them for recreation as well.

yeah when it comes to opiates and benzos, tolerance is a bitch...people with very high tolerance act like they can stop for a week and then go right back to using like normal..NOPE, it takes a lot longer than a week for your tolerance to go down...i remember trying that with opiates, take a week or 2 away and that first high would feel good but after that my tolerance would skyrocket back to where it was before...it sucks, but only a long layoff(months) is what is needed..
