Women. Religion’s longest running victims.

I'm not uncomfortable at all. I gave up putting deep thought and long responses to your posts some time ago. No need to waste my energy. You can't be reasoned with. ;)

GB I don't want you to take this the wrong way but I only say you can't be reasoned with is because you're so emotionally charged about the subject with your hate. It's difficult to reason with someone who is angry, as most people know. Emotions, such as anger and hatred, can cloud your judgement.

Good post rick. The only thing I would say is that I don't agree drugs are a victimless crime, at least in the sense of drug dealers selling dangerous chemicals at times lying about what they are actually selling, including the sales to minors. Prescription companies and some so called doctors are just as guilty of purposely getting people addicted to drugs for profit.

As for marriage, Jesus said a man and women shall leave their parents to be joined as one flesh. While Jesus never did specifically mention same sex relationships that we know of, Paul did say that men and women exchanging natural relationships for one another with those of the same sex is immoral in Romans 2. Paul never knew Jesus physically, but before he became an apostle he persecuted Christians and was blinded by a vision of Jesus on the road to Damascus to kill more Christians. Afterwards he repented, was healed, converted and was filled with the holy Spirit. So, many believe his writings to be just as valid and thus the inspired word of God. He had no reason to go through the trials, tribulations, prisons and torture, etc, for the sake of Jesus Christ, considering the high, rich position he was in before his conversion, if it wasn't for a divine purpose.

Totally agree about the dealers selling boshed or mislabelled product.. that is immoral and should remain illegal under the crime manslaughter, murder, poisoning, ABH, etc etc.. Agreed on the point of selling to minors too.. I could go on and on about the harms caused by criminalization and benefits gained from legalization with regulation (and I have) but this is not the place :D

Paul says a lot of dodgy things, though.. It's clear he viewed women as a lesser sex and his views on slavery are a bit :\ Although Jesus seemed to share his views. (At the very least you have to admit neither of them condemn it) If I were you, Tromps, I'd leave Paul's teachings out of it.. Look up "Paul the false apostle" or something like that. Jesus doesn't condemn homosexuality.. only fornication. (I strongly disagree with this as has been discussed before (Remember? ;) )

(Kinda unrelated to discussion)

At work the other day I mentioned Paul saying that women should be silent in church etc etc and one of my christian colleagues pipes up saying:

"What was meant by that is that women would just be chat chat chatting away and trying to take over and rule the conversation" As if the men had more important things to talk about while women have nothing worthwhile to add..

Made me laugh. He was being deadly serious.;);)

It does further go to prove my point that scripture can be and is interpreted many different ways, and there is no one TRUE way (without asking Jesus himself)

You mean that your type of reason is not reason at all.

Faith v/s Reason

Faith is a way for you toquit using your "God given" power of Reason and Logic, so you willbelieve doctrines that moral men reject as immoral.

The God of the OT says...“Comenow, and let us reason together,” [Isaiah 1:18]

How can you reason with Godwhen you throw away reason?

Religions, especiallyChristianity reply.

“Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding.”
“Reason is a whore, thegreatest enemy that faith has.”
Martin Luther “

This puts the rest of us in aposition where reasoning with theist becomes impossible.

It is useless to attempt toreason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.
Jonathan Swift

Literalism is an evil practicethat hides the true messages of myths. We cannot show our friends that they arewrong through their faith colored glasses. Their faith also plugs their ears.

James didn't like Paul all that much............

What makes you say that?

According to some of the earliest Christian Texts found in the Dead Sea Scrolls, James the Just and some of the others from the Essene communities actually set out to refute the writings of St.Paul. Although it's controversial. There's a book about it, called "The Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered". The Catholic Church kept the documents without letting anyone see them for almost 30 years before pictures were seized by authorities in the eighties (If I remember correctly), and they were translated.

From reading Paul's texts it looks like he jumped on the band wagon and saw an opportunity for power and riches.. his teaching seems to be about bringing in new people to the church (and passing around a collection plate) using Jesus as a selling point..

The Roman Catholic Church was born.. Taking money from the poor to give to the disgustingly rich.

James also chastised Paul for his stupid, by faith alone policy while James agreed with Jesus that we would know his people by their works and deeds and not by faith alone.

Indeed. Paul's teaching are definitely a contradiction to the teachings of the first Apostles.

I would agree. He was also extremely conceited. And, he is the only Apostle that ever dabbled with all of the petty laws found in the Old Testament.

That is what happens when you sell your soul to Satan and Rome.

Not that I believe in Satan. She is imaginary but Paul sure sold out Christianity to Rome.

Genital mutiliation, honour killings, today in Tehran a woman hung for killing man who tried to rape her, stoned to death for adultery, forced to wear a full-veil of face, child brides, any "misogony" perpetuated by the Vatican is miniscule compared to these.

You would think the Catholic Church is the worst for making Christian employers not have to pay for birth control. It's like have you heard of getting your paycheck and getting birth control on your own, the health clinics usually have free condoms too! In the Catholic faith the woman is the rib of man, she is not above him (as so many feminists believe) or below him as one of the aforementioned idealogies presumes but rather side by side to offer support to him from his baptism to his communion to his confirmation to when he marries a woman has a family with her and eventually dies. She is there to support him, and the man to support his woman.

The riches of the Vatican are merely blessings from the lord Jesus Christ. So many of these blessings they pass along to impoverished people and send missionaries to remote regions across the world to spread the word of Scripture and offer critical supplies. You don't hear about these in the newspapers though, or the magazines or in the cinema. I'm sorry you believe these things about the Vatican, but perhaps you get these ideas from our media which is dominated entirely by Zionists.

The problem is the systemic oppression implemented by the Christian Church. It is not exclusively Catholic, but any Christian belief system that follows the teachings of Paul.

Islam is irrelevant to the problems posed by the Catholic Church, as oppression is not justified by relativity. Women being victims of a much more oppressive system in the Middle East does not negate the seriousness of the systemic oppression of women living in the West -and the Christian Church is not an invalid problem just because Islam is a bigger one.

If the Catholic Church truly teaches that man and woman are equal, they need to practice what they preach. Equality between two parties cannot exist if a divide exists between them. Equality can only exist if it is guided by the vision of a collectivist body that is immune to reductionism. It is not an arm that is attached onto the body and it is not the body that has an arm attached. Because the body is not a body if it does not have the arm. Women are not here to support men, and men are not here to support women. Men and Women and Men and Men and Women and Women are neighbors, and you are to love your neighbor as yourself.

So because Michael Angelo directly contradicts the Bible by depicting Lucifer as a woman; Satan is a she?

Satan is a mythical character. What you are seeing is Catholic misogyny and type casting that show the immorality of Christianity.

Boo hoo said Adam. That woman you gave me made me eat. Boo hoo. So much for strong male characters.

It is not good for sure, --- but it may not be as bad as the way religions have discriminated against a full half of the worlds population because they do not have dicks.

I admit that these things are hard to quantify.

Either way, religions should be outlawed that do not conform to the law of the land.

Governments run the world today. Not misogynistic religions. Or so we are told.
