Tolerance question please

Hi

Is there a cross tolerance between modafinil and amphetamines.
I am on 400mg modafinil today and want to know if I take amphetamines tomorrow, will they not work as well cos of tolerance.

both modafinil and ampheatmines exhibit nootropic effects, and therefore do exhibit cross-tolerance. same as caffeine and amphetamine. essentially, all of these substances release dopamine and share pharmacology to a somewhat similar extent, therefore causing cross-tolerance.

i do however think that given the huge gap in potency between the two given drugs, any possibility of tolerance diminishing would be to a minor and perhaps unnoticeable extent.

in the end though, you know yourself best. so trial and error mixed with reading many anecdotes on the combinations or cycling of different stimulants would be the route to finding your definitive answer.

Baooozs brings up a critical point. Sure Modafinil and Amphetamines could very well build cross-tolerance. To what extent I couldn't tell you. However, his following point holds the most weight. The significant potency, and side effect, difference between the aforementioned drugs in question. Adderall has always been fantastic by itself IME, and I have only experienced Provigil once in the past when I was trying to end a pretty hefty cocaine/stimulant binge. No telling what they could/would do together. I wish I could be of more help 3dmusic.
