So ATM you have no anti virus or Malware protection ? Read through this review :-

If your machine is really in a pickle it may be easier to back up all your data (photos, music etc) to an external USB drive and then reload the OS, which I assume is Windows.
If your issues are exclusive to browsing have you tried a different browser, IE tends to suffer more issues because of it's wider distribution, much the same as Windows. I'm no Microsoft fan but the truth is that users suffer more virus, malware and other nasties because there are so many machines running Microsoft software.
For personal use I've switched to Linux Mint, it's free and you can load it from a UASB pen drive in less than an hour, it comes with Libre Office and everything else I need for a general use machine. Most versions of Linux can be run from the USB pen drive, this tends to be a little sluggish but gives you a chance to try it out and could get you out of trouble if your installed OS has gone west.
Cheers. I will check out those links.
Yeah, my machine really is in a complete pickle, so much so that i rarely even switch it off, as its so tempremental whether its even going to load Windows or not. Unfortunately the machine didnt come with an O/S disk, or Ive lost it, and it's now no longer supported to create a recovery disk or w/e. I have most of my stuff backed up to external HDDs incase the worst happens. I have AVG anti-virus installed, but no specific malware remover.
I use(d) Firefox since i discovered that it seemed quicker to load pages back in the days when broadband speed was an issue, and i'm too lazy to bother to change and export all my bookmarks and all that. 8) Plus firefox has loads of useful 'add-ons'.
I also have a virtually unused newer pc, but that fucking thing has been cursed, with one problem after another. Ive spent fucking hundreds on it, and now its playing the "operating system not found" game. I think the hard drive must be fucked. And its no longer an easy job for any layman to swap out hard drives. The cabling is way too complex, it used to be quite easy on earlier PCs
