I have some stomach problems. For example Pan gastritis, stomach ulcer, lactose intolerance and so on. I must avoid all milk based products and FODMAP carbohydrates. I have a colon MRI coming soon. My blood test results were all very good. Problem is I am losing weight and my stomach hurts a lot.

I have eaten lots of all sorts of peanuts to gain some weight. Still I have lost 2kg in last 30 days and like 38kg in few years. Its getting hard to even maintain this weight and now I cant eat peanuts any more.

Any suggestions what to eat to gain weight? I have kind of lost my appetite so I am looking for foods that are easy to eat and which are not hurting my stomach. I am using these meal-replacement shakes that are very expensive (doctors order) and would like to stop taking those but I cant before I find something else to eat.

Potatoes (avoid fries), berries, bananas, and most animal products : eggs, pork, beef, chicken, turkey etc. Keep in mind that luncheon meats often have added corn derivatives.

Have you had a gastroscopy? If not, I recommend mentioning it to your doctor.

Avocado as well, if you eat a decent amount then it'll help with weight. In small portions, it's good as a snack food, but it does have calories and it can help with weight gain. Potatoes are a good suggestion as well. And bananas!
Make your own smoothies/shakes. It wouldn't be quite as expensive.

Thanks. I had gastroscopy and colonoscopy about 2 months ago. I was in bad withdrawals when those were done, so it was horrific experience. I had to take few antibiotics about month ago and that’s when the real trouble started.

Made just about 7 liters of blueberry soup. Delicious!

Your problem is obvious, your intestinal flora is disrupted due to the antibiotics. You need to repopulate your intestines by eating food rich in bacteria (fermented foods, cheese, etc.). A probiotic should also help.

the key to gaining weight in a healthy way always revolves around protein. if you can stomach soy milk then buy yourself some whey protein and mix it with that in a tall glass for a quick meal high in protein and nutrients. also eat all the meat you can, preferably grilled chicken and fish but a thin flank cut of red meat isn't too bad either. peanuts are good to snack on but rinse the salt off. eggs are good for protein as well, i like to mix in a little paprika, seasoning salt, and chives into my eggs for an added kick :)

eggs are a good choice if you eat them alone so digestion is quick and complete, but oatmeal is a better option if you're looking to gain weight. you can eat either at all meals, there are many ways to dress up eggs and oatmeal just don't add other proteins or fats to them or it will prolong digestion

Thank you all. I have been eating protein rich foods my whole life. I don’t use milk products, cheese, grains etc. Its not easy. I can eat any of those but usually the pain gets so bad that I have just tried to avoid those foods.

I stated to my doctor before starting antibiotics that I wont take those if there is any change that my intestinal flora gets destroyed. Those antibiotics should have cured my stomach inflammation but it seems that it was not the case. I have had so much trouble with antibiotics. I have taken probiotics for few weeks and I hope the best.

I got a referral to dietitian, First appointment is scheduled to happen next week. We are trying to find some foods that don’t cause too much pain. Had to do some measurements for them and my waste line is 70cm... If I were a teen girl I would be happy about it but I am not.
