Hey all. I used to be a huge oxycodone fiend, banging at least 800mg a day to stay well, and a gram to get high. I ended up cleaning up for about a year, but have been using off and on recently again, in as low of doses to get high as possible, due to lowered tolerance. I actually felt a small rush for about 45 minutes off of 10mg IV when I came back to it for the first time, which I found to be insane.

Anyway, 3 months ago I did about 80mg per day over a week, and ended up in WD, that I feel was pretty bad for the small dose I was doing.

Last month I did about 100mg a day for 5 days, and ended up in moderate WD for about 2 and a half days.

Yesterday I did 45mg, and today I did another 80. My last dose was about 12 hours ago, and I can already feel restless legs coming on. I have more, but don't want to take it unless I go into full blown WD.

This is insane! I used to bang a gram a day back in my prime, and now just 2-5 days of moderate use is giving me WD? It seems to come back faster and worse each time it happens too! I knew of a kindling effect with GABA drugs, but does this happen with opioids too? There is no reason why 2 days of such low oxycodone use should have me already withdrawing. Are some people just more susceptable to WD symptoms? I just want to know what gives!

every time you experience withdrawal you can expect the next time to get worse

high-ish doses of oxycodone or other opioids will also produce rebound effects in many people when they discontinue a binge

So would you just recommend not even trying to chip? I feel like I have the self control to chip on my days off, but if 2 days in a row is going to start WD's, I don't think it's worth it. It took me 4 months of daily use in high doses to feel WD the first time, I hate that 2 days brings it on now.

Big doses causes this.......IMO/IME, if you were popping 20mgs a day for 3 days, I don't think you would have gotten much withdrawal.......I really think the higher your dosage is for a couple days, the worse it will be & of course withdrawal will be much worse after the first time.

Lostboys:

How fast would you personally say WD comes on then? I love getting high, but after getting sober a year and a half ago, I've worked my way up to a manager position that pays very well, and can't be showing up to work sick, which I've already done once and played off as having a flu. I can't really be showing up to work sick every months.

Would you say once a week oxy would be enough to not only prevent withdrawal, but also tolerance?

Like I said, when I first relapsed after a year and a half of no drugs but caffeine, 10mg IV gave me an awesome rush, and high that lasted a good 4 hours, with afterglow going til the next day.

Yesterday was the first day I've used in 3 weeks, and it took 45 mg to get me high.

I guess I'm just tired of the opiate tolerance/WD cycle. When I was opiate naive, it took me a very very long time to work my tolerance up to where it was at it's worse. Usually only a 10-15mg increase every month or two, and this was using multiple times a day. Now just one use raises my tolerance significantly. I love getting high, but unforunately haven't found anything thats even half as enjoyable as a good opiate rush.

I would say 1 day of a dosage per week is good enough yo keep withdrawals away.......I know if I take Valium 3 days in row, I will get very small rebound anxiety but if I take it twice a week but skip 2 or 3 days, no rebound anxiety what so ever.......

Super standard. And super annoying. I find any time I use, even just once, I'll get the restless legs at the very least.

Kratom ? Having it on hand will help all the WD effects except the mental.

Kratom doesn't do shit if you're not opiate naive. I hate how people keep telling me this, anyone who is a heroin addict, or 1g per day oxycodone user will tell you it doesn't do anything. All it does is upset my already upset stomach. It's the equivalent to telling someone who takes 30mg of xanax per day to drink one beer and it'll get better.
