Targeted adverts

I went without adblock software for a few months just recently. In all that time of advertised into submission hell not one single solitary advert was of the slightest interest to me. If that's targeted advertising they can keep it.

Advertising agents need to add a like or dislike to the frame of every ad, giving the consumer more say in what products they want to see.

In fairness nobody is forcing you to use the internet. I've never owned a smart phone in my life, mostly for this reason.

Sorry I realise that was not a very helpful response.

Here's my phone, don't mean to make you jealous but...

I've noticed a lot of dealers have this phone, which is nice, because it often serves as an ice breaker when I'm scoring smack off a new guy for the first time.

On a side note I once knew a dealer that admitted to regularly swallowing his SIM cards and on occasion, his house keys.

That's very similar to my phone as it happens, Ms Team. I am not a dealer though. And nor was my mother who owned it before me. Not unless she's a lot better at secret double lives than I otherwise suspect anyway :sus:

Haha

I get a fair amount of slagging for it but I cannot recommend it enough. The battery lasts about a week and it just doesn't break, been thrown at walls and dropped into water lots of times, it's indestructible. But the best thing of all is that no matter where I leave it (and I tend to lose it everytime I go out) it always turns up, somebody will always hand it in. Because nobody in the right mind would steal that piece of shit =D

I'm praying for flip phones to make a comeback in 2015 in a really naff, dare I say ironic, 90s sort of way.

My only real complaint with it is that it's so bloody small I have a habit of losing it when wasted. This is only losing it in my immediate vicinity, mind. Would probably be better to lose it whilst out and about for precisely the reason you mention - no fukker's gonna pinch it so the more eyes the better really. Far too easy to lose down the back of sofas and in pockets of clothes not currently warn and the like :!

Tell me that tickets to my favourite band go on presale tomorrow, let me know that my favourite beer is on sale at my local, if I'm going on holiday to a new city, by all means tell me about some cool local bars and attractions. Unless you are so weak of mind that the simple power of suggestion over rides your every move, just enjoy perks of tailored advertising.

For once I agree with you. It's easy to go off the grid if you want to and have two brain cells to rub together. In the meantime advertising is a product we're forced in to consuming to pay for the privledge of being able to watch/access other things so an improvement in the quality of that product can only be a good thing really.

I am a capitalist pig though.
