Hey guys, this is my first post here so sorry if this is the wrong area to post in. I have taken Codeine many times in the past, but the last opiate I've had was about six months ago. I got some Oxycodone HCL 5mg pills and took two of them last night. I had eaten them on an empty stomach and I took 50mg Benadryl half an hour earlier because I've heard it helps combat the nausea and itch. About five minutes in I feel warm and numb. Just normal effects you'd expect I guess. But twenty minutes later my head is spinning and I feel overwhelmed. My heart starts beating very hard and fast. I felt kind of paranoid but I tried relaxing and seeing if it would go away. I nodded for a bit and about ten minutes later I felt more nauseous than I ever had in my whole life. I felt like throwing up but I never did. Once it was 5AM (I dosed at 4AM), I decided to go to bed. The Benadryl was making me very tired along with the Oxy. I slept well but I feel like this experience was very bad and that I did something wrong. Should I dose again? If so how much? Should I eat before or after dosing?

Sorry if nooby post as well. Just looking for answers because I've searched around and can't find exactly what I'm looking for..

Eat something an hour before you dose.......don't listen to people that tell you to dose on an empty stomach.

Of codeine is the only opiate you have done & its been several months, you basically have NP tolerance & it seems you may be sensitive to opiates so like mentioned above, take 5mgs.......you font need any benadryl for low doses. Oxy isn't as itchy as codeine.

If you need more, cut the pills in half & ingest another 2.5mgs as needed.

Okay. Thanks for the information. When I started Codeine, I tried 150mg (it was 30/300mg pills so I did no CWE since it was just 1,500mg APAP), it did nothing. The next time I tried 270mg Codeine (CWE this time) and I got high. That made me feel like I might be a little less sensitive to opiates due to having to take such a large dose to get high for the first time. But I feel like 5mg wouldn't be enough, I took 10mg on Tuesday, so if I took it today would my tolerance be down already? Before I would go on 1-2 week binges so my tolerance would go down, but that was when I was dosing very high. Thanks again for the information.

this happens when you first start using any opiate really. I still remember throwing up in a few parking lots when I started using Oxy

I always felt really good after vomiting though

taking it on an empty stomach WILL make it kick in faster, that is just science.

I don't think it correlates to throwing up though, it's more about getting used to it

Yeah, from those doses of codeine, 150mgs your 1st time should have had you really high.......maybe you body doesn't break down codeine well.

My first couple times with codeine, 50mgs had me really high for 1 hour......it seems my body metabolizes codeine & morphime really well whole it does metabolize tramadol well at all.......everyone is different.

You can always add towards your dose.

I've heard some people can't get high on these doses due to CYPD enzymes or something. Anyways, 10mg seemed like a perfect dose. I even thought it might not be enough...

Thanks for the information. I will try Oxy again and see what happens, this time not forcing myself to not eat.

I get wonderful effects from 2.5mg oxycodone. 5mg is too much for me, and it can be unenjoyable. I've had bad experiences with as low as 5mg, although I am prone to anxiety with drugs. Therefore, I never take more than 2.5mg at a time and it is very much worth my while, I'd recommend trying a lower dose. I find the drug to be pretty stimulating as far as depressants go.

It's my favourite feeling I get out of drugs these days, the perfect subtle high for me: a pleasant, uplifting, euphoric, relaxing yet energetic, social, motivational kick to my day and a total relief of pain at just 2.5mg orally so maybe start lower, to see whether you were taking too much or just don't like it that much. I'm getting totally different effects from this one in relation to codeine. Definitely loving this stuff though, I'm functioning at a higher level on it.

Be careful bud, you kind of remind me of how I was when I first started using Oxy...I'm not sure of how much you use, and 2.5mg is a pretty low dose, but can also increase very quickly, and you can end up in deep water. Just be careful and remember it is a potent addictive substance

So maybe I was looking at it wrong. You build up tolerance to a certain opiate and not opiates in all?

Well say you have a tolerance to codeine and you take some oxy, and you feel it cause the oxy is a lot stronger..

But if you had a tolerance to the same dose of oxy, the codeine would not be effective.

Good advice.

Hydrocodone is definitely stronger than codeine......orally, mg for mg, hydrocodeine is equal with morphine per mg........

Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than hydrocodeine.......
Thanks. Just realized I could've Googled it. Just a question, but for opiate users that build up so much tolerance to an opiate would they move to a stronger opiate since the other opiate no longer gets them high?

Yes, they have no choice if its just for getting high......if it was just for pain, then it could still work.

In a fantasy world, it would be nice if we could all get unlimited supplies of codeine, then when that stopped working, move up the ladder to hydrocodone, then oxycodone.......for me, I think i could last 3 years on each one before moving to the next, but it takes some self control.

Since your codeine doesn't do it for you, did you try hydrocodone? I know you just started with oxycodone & if this is your drug of choice, stick with it as long as you can before moving up to something harder because the opiate game is no joke.
