Hey, I've been on 40-60 mg vyvanse a day plus 5-10mg of Dexedrine er for a period for nearly 2 years. I'm stopping for a month because I want to give my system a break, and lower tolerance. Is this long enough for my tolerance to go down signifigantly? Its my 3rd day off today and I'm still sweating more than usual.... will this pass soon do you think?

Thanks,

OC9

Ivve been on dex for several years. Life saver really. If I use all 50mg Im rxed, or just 5 to 10, it still works. If I use the lower amount it doesnt take long to get my tollerance down. Why not use 5mg am and another 2.5 mg afternoon for a while? Just so you dont fall asleep.

Its been so hard to get out of bed the last few days(sleeping 12+ hours), but I'm stopping cold turkey because I want to enjoy food again. In addition, I'm going to be to doing some oxys next week and wanted the amphs to be out of my system before doing them, because its not enough just stopping them for a few days.

A month would be sufficient to lower tolerance somewhat. But your tolerance will go up a lot more quickly than before.

Not using a drug to use another drug8(

Sweating shouldn't be a sign of amphetamine withdrawal.

By somewhat you mean 30% or greater?

I didn't say sweating was an withdrawal symptom, all I'm saying is that there was residual vyvanse still in my system, causing me to sweat even after I stopped vyvanse.

I know it sounds not the healthiest thing to do stopping one drug and starting another, but its better for me that I take some time off vyvanse.

Its my 5th day off, and I feel a lot better, only slightly tired.

There is no way to know. Everyone is different. 30% might be a reasonable estimate, but it's more like it will feel really good the first few times you take it (say 2-5) then will shoot up faster than before.

Good for you. I had trouble taking time off it.
