Sorry. Couldn't help myself. I haven't a leg to stand on when it comes through avidly reading through endless iterations of a Megathread or two (one in particular ) but that comes with the territory in that particular case. I defy anybody to manage to slog their way through the entire Meph Megathread back catalogue and survive to tell the tale :D

Should you get bored shitless and give up at any point, the cliff notes are that some (probably most) people who use mephedrone think it was different/better/stronger before the UK ban... more sensible folk think similarly only place the point of differentiation around the time mephedrone production was banned in China (where all the original batches were produced)... some may say it is all down to Set & Setting and overfamiliarity with an innately shallow drug... but those people would be in the minority and not overly welcomed in said Mephedrone Megathread for historical (and indeed ongoing... albeit not quite as intensely so) reasons...

That's not exactly a short summation but a damn sight shorter then vasty numbers of Meph Threads all saying the same thing round in circles.

Ditto it was/is.... I had this house tidied from top to bottom on codeine and had a lot of my studying done.... well it was strange really, for me, on codeine... I would feel active when I was up but if I'd sit down I'd start feeling noddy and stuff because I'd just take it like it was sweets and drink lots of linctus at the same time.... It would just feel normal to get a pack of n+ and eat them all as if they were sweets....

However, with that said, it helped me sleep... I had the best sleeps ever... Usually I'm up n back n forth to the toilet, always have n 'tis mega annoying - but codeine stopped that n I'd have, what I term, 'the waterfall affect' in the morning before once on the toilet would just all poor out like there was no tomorrow, but hey ho that's the way ya want it, right...

Anyway - I did read somewhere that codeine affects opiate addicts differently to the "normal" person, normal people get tired of it whereas addicts find it hugely stimulating... People would come to me and say "How could you have 14-18 zapain, I'd be asleep after 1-2? Weren't you tired?" And thus they tend not to believe you that you weren't tired on them until you sit down n drop everything and nod off.... LOL

I've never had a decent go with codeine, might properly try it sometime, always found oxycontin nicely stimulating until it got to the nods. was under the impression i'd be able to sleep on a nod but was very wrong about that, couldnt sleep on it until i'd had a few benzos

What was so good about pre-ban mephedrone? I'm assuming that since it was legal, professional pharmaceutical companies were manufacturing it, ensuring high purity and quality. However, is there something else I don't know that makes post-ban mephedrone lower in quality?

Pre-ban meph for me felt like a perfect combo of dopamine, serotonin and stimulation, very euphoric and reliable, one of the best things i've ever tried.. with also the worst comedown.. euphoric stimulating spangled, jaw grind, gurn, music appreciation, wide dialated eyes, amazing stuff, very special buzz.. not sure specifically what else made pre ban better, theres been some speculation.. cant remember what was said now though. aprox 3 years of almost every weekend use & it was still spot on. some post ban is close but lacks something

Same here, awful head-fucking comedowns, gave it up quite awhile ago and dont plan on getting back into it any time soon. took a long time to finally stop doing it. amazing fun times though

had some fantastic nights on it that I'll remember til I die, for example my birthday, raving til 7am to trap and jungle with my friends. Talked bollocks to most people in the club that night. And I do still sometimes wish I could just crush up those shards and hoof a huge line of it, but it makes me feel like I'm not a real person for days after using it. Also weird shit, like feeling like someone's behind me even when they aren't, paranoia.

I find codeine to be fairly euphoric, or rather just happy would be the right word... smoking heroin felt really great but more just everything feeling right.

You need a fair bit to start nodding with codeine. I'd start nodding in eveing as that's when I'd really go for it with the 60s, 15s, linctus etc.
i'd be reading a book n I'd spend about 2 hours sitting there reading the same line over n over, trying to focus n not drop off. It's really strange with opiates cause one minute they're stimulating you, the nexr you're nodding off then you're stimulated n running round like a mad person again lol

Just to inject a modicum of HR into this 'ere HR site (yes, even the Fukked Thread is part of the wider HR site) it's worth bearing in mind that booze, benzos and opiates - even "mild" opiates - is a bit iffy. Any two of them are iffy anyway and adding another justs ups the iffiness factor. Euphoric sedation is all well and good but choking on your own vomit is less so. Not saying the one always naturally follows the other but it is still an inherently risky combo - respiratory depression plus (potentially - dose and tolerance dependent) heavy sedation is not a brilliant combo from a HR standpoint.

true. I'm insanley ;lucky to survive the time I (I was already gone when I did it) ingested about 50mg etiz with a bottle of wine.

It's always a bit tricky with downer combos cos we all know people take them all the time - often at insanely high doses - without dropping dead. As with so many things though, you can get away with it daily for years but only takes the one time where it doesn't go so well to be game over. To be fair, codeine is not the worst for respiratory depression but it still does have that effect and when combined with other downers it can multiply exponentially. Have lost more friends and acquaintances to downer combos than to anything else and they were all regular partakers and mostly longterm addicts - polydrug addicts who took large doses of opioid, benzos and alcohol as a matter of course. Can happen to anybody so it's always worth pointing out there's no getting away from the fact it is a risky bizniz.
