I read all three...all my friends were talking about how she should be ashamed of herself (the author) in terms of objectifying women, stereotyping and making them victims etc etc etc...when asked if they had actually read them they all said no.

If you are going to formulate an oppinion may as well make it your own, rather than soundbites from the Fe-Mail on Sunday section. I thought they were quite hilarious but yep not exactly The female Eunoch but there we go....

But that's absurd. She went into eyes open, he told her what was what, drew up a contract etc the lot. And she enjoyed it, well not all of the time but most of the time she did. It wasn't like she was forced into it. Besides with that sort of thing you have a boss and a submissive. It's not always the woman; sometimes it's the man but in this case it was the woman.... And it wasn't just above sex, though, of course, that was a major chunk of it... was about how they became to fall for one another.... was interesting what with the helicopter rides to his luxurious apartment n what-not... Mind you, was two years ago, to the month I read it so I may have forgotten a lot....

plus wasn't he taken advantage of by someone during his childhood? - his partner? I forget now, but I'm sure he was...

Exactly, Evey.. shame it was so badly written really. And going by the trailer, the film looks just as funny.

I really can't get excited about 50 Shades of Grey. Have read enough proper S&M stuff to know that it really ain't gonna cut it as airport novel material. Aside from the obvious de Sade and Sacher-Masoch stuff there are a number of (predominantly female - and hardcore feminist female at that... not that you'd necessarily spot that from the prose and plots in places 8o) stuff along those lines. If yer gonna do it do it properly - it's niche for a reason ;)
 
No, I know that.. but if you read it in the same way that you'd watch Two-Headed Shark Attack or Troll 2.. is really is very funny. I assure you that you would lol. It's quite possibly the most un-erotic trilogy of books I've ever read.
 
See now on that kinda level I'm sure I would <3 it. Kinda like the Dan Brown of erotica - very, very wrong when there's perfectly good authors doing similar (but good) stuff in similar vein... but manages to be entertaining enough with it you can at least appreciate it for what it is. Although - to be honest - I can just about face buying a Dan Brown book at the charity shop for 50p for a day's entertainment... not sure I could quite bring myself to buy 50 Shades of Grey at the local charity shop... I'd have to look the fella/auld lady in the eye and everything.
 
Saw that doc awhile ago, lol at the director taking it all so seriously, if i recall he gets pissed off at people laughing at it & cant understand that its so laughably shit. might watch the film itself when i can be assed
 
Have now reached the point where I feel ill..have been plugged into BL today/yesterday like a life support machine and I have no idea how much speed I have consumed but have given up on the booze...

Eyes swimming, specs lost, head banging too much to listen to music and now what..cane more speed..reach for the vallies, te etz..do a C.W.E of codeine..Oh bollocks to it.

What was so good about pre-ban mephedrone? I'm assuming that since it was legal, professional pharmaceutical companies were manufacturing it, ensuring high purity and quality. However, is there something else I don't know that makes post-ban mephedrone lower in quality?

Proceed with fluids. Will help with headacheyness. Non-alcoholic fluids in this instance. Then consider options. If it were I I may be tempted to go for a small (actually small) dose of diaz - partly for the assistance in generally winding down from on high, mostly cos it should block most (if not all) of any possible hangover come the morn.

And thankyou again - am really quite sure that is indeed my lil tune underneath all the other stuff and that's far more than I've ever managed - and I know what it sounds like so buggered how you did it 8(
