Smashing Pumpkins - United States (live @ Madrid '07)

From what I consider the wilderness and too cracked out for even me to be able to defend years but that's a damn fine performance even with the cracked out silliness of the costumes and stuff.

Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm (electric version, MTV award '94)

And that is proper Pumpkins performance (albeit a bit of a bad hair year for Mr Corgan :o)

Ha! The DJ we always had in of a weekend at the pub I worked at for a few years used to play that at the end of the night every time. Crowd pleaser but also a bit of a belter even if it is The Monkees.

(i have nothing against the monkees - the tv show was great - but that is the only song of theirs i'd choose to listen to again)

Monkees FACT! - can't recall which one it was but one of 'em is either the son or grandson of the woman who invented Superglue from memory.

That is for sure a beast of a tune, Dan. I am mildly miffed you never picked up on it when I posted it and only noticed it when Ms Flo did months later though. Now I know who clickies on my linkies :p;)<3

More Pumpkins. Cos they'z great. Especially from their godly period like these ones...

Smashing Pumpkins - Today (live @ No Alternative '93)

Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonnaise (live... somewhere around '93)

The latter is probably the most underrated track on Siamese Dream. Or 'See A Me's Dream' as Mr Corgan appears to believe it to be pronounced. If he meant that deliberately instead of being semi-illiterate he gets massive bonus points.

That tour was the thing which reminded me that gee-tars really do have a place in music even though synths and pooty bleeps are often much, much sexier. I'd kill for another copy of the bootleg live show they did in London that year which was the recording that sent me straight out to acquire everything they did before, during and since.

Yes. More Pumpkins. As a great song title once said: Fuck You (An Ode to No-one)

Smashing Pumpkins - Ugly (Sadlands Demo)

"And I rot in my skin,
There's a piece of me dust every day,
I know I'm nothing,
Because I'm ugly..."

One of my fave of their B-sides but never heard of the Sadlands Demos. That's not saying much as there's a gazillion and twelve demo sessions of Pumpkins stuff and I have plenty... but not this one :sus:

Incidentally, despite quoting the more emo side of the song it's one of the most positive songs I know of. Goes from emo misery to trascendant reification in the space of less than three minutes. That's talent in my book <3

Smashing Pumpkins - X.Y.U. (Sadlands Demo)

Bettter than the album version I'd say. And that is saying something.

Tis a beast indeed, and im a bit miffed as well haha i usually try and listen to all of whats been posted, altho depends on how much has been etc. am guilty of skimming threads at times. first picked up on that tune in a playlist before i saw it posted on here i think

love Smashing Pumpkins

Funky 4+1 Thats The Joint (Vinyl High Quality)

This is what bugs me about all your geetar linkies, Dan. Much as I quite like Moby (and I genuinely do and have no shame in admitting it) have you never considered being a tad less derivative? If you have then talent why play somebody elses tune?

That Batchelors of Science tune is nice btw. Never heard of ;em but that's quality <3

EDIT: And cos it's getting splattered about a bit due to brilliance tonight...

µ-ziq - space invaders

<3

Yeah good point, playing other peoples stuff has been done to death, recorded some of my own stuff although not much at all.. should do tbh. i'd link a few but doubt you'd wanna be hearing guitar shite when spangled

Glad you like that tune.. partly sparked off my interest into dnb in 08, check this one.. love this

Bachelors Of Science - Strings Track (Apex Remix)

am gonna go on a lil tune hunt and link some more

You'd be right on the lack of interest in geetarry stuff right now but not in general. You have genuine talent as far as I can discern it. Combine that with true creativity and you find pure win <3

Also, get tae fuck with yer d&b nicenessess when you know I don't like it uusally. Will only confuzzle me or summat :o

Have some proper acid tunes instead ...

(i may be open to accepting there is room for both on occasion.... but still... acid is acid and d&b is d&b so =D

EDIT: BWAHAHAHAHHAHA!

*dan is suddenly in my teenage bedroom taping the top 40 on r1*

<3

Thanku, and completely forgot that you dont like dnb haha

Ha! No, I do like d&b. It just gets swamped in D&B which is where it and I rub up wrong. Fish-eyed chavs stabbing folk and all that - leaves a bad impression on any scene. I always gravitated to the more obviously positive (and less likely to be stabbed and robbed) tents is all. Thanks for reminding me that d&b can be good too <3

It still ain't ever gonna be acid though <3

Done any guitar covers recently Dan? :)

Yeah done a couple, could link em if you like. also got some guitary tunes youll probs like

Haven't slapped together any hip hop mashups in awhile, need to get back on that
