Your word of the day.

Does anybody still shine their shoes? I know there are still a couple of people in bigger cities who make a living from doing it on the street but I recall spending many an eve having to polish my shoes as a nipper. Wouldn't even cross my mind now. Mind you, I suspect the lack of need to be wearing shiny shoes may have a lot to do with that...

Yes! People do!

I spend quite a lot of time on shoecare, and it's pretty therapeutic, y'know? Usually apply two coats of Kiwi and a layer of cream polish to my work shoes, Wonder Balsam and cream polish on my Docs, and use suede & nubruck brushes / cleaning products on non-leather items.

Okay, so I find the smell overwhelmingly sexy ('specially if you apply a layer of polish to leather you've pre-warmed with a hairdryer - oh my) but it makes good sense to do it as your shoes last much longer with a little bit of effort.

But yeah, if you don't need or want to wear shiny shoes I imagine it seems like a grand old waste of time.

Forgotten (like me :\)

Say it ain't so? You're unforgettable. ;)

Replenished.

Kiwi shoe polish is the bomb! I don't see the point in anything else... a good brush & buffing with a cloth is all that is needed.

I saw some thing not long ago about the last two shoeshiners in some part of London (was probably fairly old - there's surely more than two working there now?). They worked opposite sides of the street and one was sponsored by Kiwi and the other fella was sponsored by... whichever the other shoe polish manufacturer is. Was strangely interesting - all that skullduggery as the shoe polish companies try to tempt them to swap sides (which they both did making it even again). Apparently whoever it is that pays you the most for advertising their product produces the best product. Funny how that works out.

Word of the day: absent.

Girls pissing in converse to be exact.

That's not very exact as can be interpreted in at least two ways. Both fairly niche areas of interest admittedly. Which is more or less the definition of a fetish I suppose.

wunderbus

im not actually sure if this is a word, but if it is, i am guessing it means wonderful in german ^.-

Combine the two and you have niche.

Combine the two and you have one hell of a fun night in. ;)

Not a 'real' word as such, but seemingly a semi-established neologism.

You can see what they did there, can't you?

Because I was morbidly obese and I once smothered someone. Like a pillow.

Or because when I sit somewhere where cushions or soft objects are available i sit with one on my lap hugging it.

I feel obliged to give that tune alisten now. Here goes.

My word of the day (but it's night-time :?) is... Kitty. <3

Hehe. There's good reason it was my go-to ketty tune of a morn - works even better around dawn. Very sunny tune, very ketty tune. And yes that vid does kinda resonate a bit doesn't it =D

You know people pay good money for that service apparently. In case you are ever considering different career options.

(probably worth making clear i do not pay good - nor even bad - money for that service but some certainly do)
