What are you listening to? Ver. Shine On

Yep, Like a Version is cool. Wikipedia says it goes back to Mel in the mornings in 2004. I remember trying to find Muph n Plutonic covering a Talking Heads song that they used to play live. I like the rap ones.

Here is one I like; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cqj1BYXNDg Dialectrix and Plutonic Lab covering Spiderbait, Buy Me a Pony :)

The last Basement Jaxx album from 2009. I remember liking these guys 10 years ago, and enjoying their music a lot more than I am enjoying this album.

They have a new album coming out in 6 or 7 weeks :)

yeah i was into rodriguez 30+ years ago. "jumpers, coke, sweet mary jane."

you should watch the "searching for sugarman" documentary. I haven't seen it myself, but i hear its remarkable since he was totally unaware of his international popularity.

Group worth a mention.

Clipping - Work Work

Didn't know Noise Rap or Industrial Hip Hop were genres until I looked into these guys further. Their new album is up on Spotify and they have their first album on bandcamp.

Cocc Pistol Cree from above song has a mixtape for download too which is pretty raw. Like a early Nicky Minaj with DJ Mustard beats.

I also highly reccomend watching it to those who havnt yet

sorry to drag the subject on even further but since this thread is on standstill........... guess whos seeing Rodriguez live in November!! :D

who would have thought that I, being born in the early 90's, would be lucky enough to see Bob Dylan, Roger Waters and Rodriguez live post 2010?!

had the opportunity to see the Dire Straights n the Stones live aswell but couldnt get tickets at the time due to other factors.. all of these artists are some of my all time favorites so I'm stoked with seeing/having the opportunity to experience them live in the flesh

My favourite birds -

1. Eagle
2. Pretty much any other bird of prey
3. Ibis
4. certain parrots + parakeets
5. Owls (owls are not bop don argue in thread pm me)
6. Condors (see above)
7. Pelicans
actaully pelicans are probably superior to vulture business
I also dig doves because reppin for peace
magpies minus swoop factor
Once a cassowary chased me
Also an emu did too

There was a French bistro @
Surry/
Broadway
that served me emu steak once

Lil birds in my heart.

^ I saw a peewee (magpie lark??) chasing a black cockatoo this afternoon and neither of them seemed very happy with the situation. I see lots of black cockatoos here, they are amazing :)

I'm listening to 808's and heartbreak again. Not because it's one of those alone on valentines day kind of albums, but because of the recognition Rolling Stone gave it last week.

Mopokes are the best.
There is one that lives in in the trees around the soccer ground I love by.
Love the plaintive call. Beautiful when you see them up close, too.
I also like when people call them Boobooks.

Also, I'm sitting in my apartment listening to this Lou Reed, John Cale, Nico - Femme Fatale (from the Bataclan Clun in Paris, 1972 bootleg-gone-official release).
Perfect mood for...whatever night it is (?)
