how bad of withdrawal can be expected from this opiate scenario

Okay so my friend was a bad opiate addict from about 5 years (oxys, H, hydros etc) He
was incarcerated and clean for about a year. He really wanted to stay clean upon
release but temptation was too much.

He did H every day for about 10
days, just 2 or 3 bags a day, and wasn't expecting too much withdrawal, he was surprised when he felt
sick as hell for 2 days, moderate symptoms maybe, diarrhea(not bad) but most
just general feeling of uneasiness , sore, didn't wanna move, severe depression
could not eat at all. SO he gave in and decided he would try to wean down a
little, Got some hydros did maybe 4-5 of those a day for a few days, then got
some tramadol 50mg and did about 8 of those a day
for 3 or 4 days, did one bag of h the next day, the day after that got an op 40,
cut it in half took half of it, then took the other half the next day. He is now
out and plans on quitting. obviously these are small doses of opiates that hes only really been messing with for a
month, and lately has weaned down even further. I was shocked he experienced any
symptoms after just 10 days of light H usage, and hopes this wean down will
prevent any more noticeable WDs. He's always been a little prone to the sickness
but now hes working again and cant afford to be sick, or to continue using. How
much do you think he will hurt and how long? This definitely shouldn't be
comparable to a couple years ago when he used heavy every day and would run out
should it?

If I were to answer this questions id say maybe mild WD
symptoms for 2 days or so and mostly psychological. I just want to see if there
may be other experiences similar to this that could be shared

any tips would be appreciated. does Imodium ad help?

thanks for the reply and I agree and appreciate the advice to stop while still possible. The thing is my friend is out of town working now and isnt going to bother trying to score and knows he wont feel the best the next couple days. i was wondering is based on what i said how sick he'll get . i dont know because last time it was a 6 year binge to a cold turkey quit, obviously he about died. i was just wondering if anyone had any input on what stopping after a light to moderate one month binge will be like. also if immodium really works, and if my case if its worth investing in some,

I read often that if one was an opiate addict and relapses the wds will be worse and will take less for his body to become dependent again.
still, yours doesn't seem like a very large binge to me, but you might invest in some loperamide and use some benzos to ease the discomfort.
as a side note, you don't need to talk in 3rd persom :)

The first sentence is 100% accurate. It's one of the reasons quitting is so fucking hard. You can go through all the sickness, then use 2-3 days in a row and then you're fucking sick again! If you've been through it recently sometimes it's too much of a fight to go through it again and it's easier to just go on an extended run. Well not in the long run.

I disagree with your second statement. The amount used, while not extremely large, would still be enough to make someone uncomfortable especially if they already had decent WDs after the 10 day run. It's not going to be as bad as when they were using heavily, but it' s still going to suck. I don't think WD ever not sucks though. Just the fact that you feel down and uninterested in things is shitty enough, without ALL the other fucking symptoms that come.

Don't worry too much though, a well-adjusted, good attitude is one of the tools to get through it easier. Much harder to have that the longer the run goes on for

There's a bunch of threads about useful drugs and supplements to take to ease the WD symptoms.

Withdrawals can be shitty but what you gotta remember is that they don't last forever.

oh yes indeed, also because of the first thing I said it won't be a walk in the park, of course it seems some small binge compared to a 6 year habit but he'll go through some discomfort (hence my advice to purchase some lope and benzos) :)

Sorry I should have worded that less strongly.

Word. After the first few days things start getting exponentially better. People dismiss 3 days since it's really not that long of a time, except that in WD you pretty much feel every single second of those 3 days. Three days in seconds is 259,200 seconds, which is a lot of feelings, especially if sleep is an issue.

i got some lope, just 2 packages ,im afraid to take high does because i hate being constipated, absolutely hate it. i took 6 mg this morning and .5 klonopin (my usual prescribed dose) its been about 30 hours since my last opiate dose and i dont feel that sick, just a really runny nose and some stomach discomfort and im not hungry. i hear about ppl taking like 20-50 mg of lope, no way! id can only imagine not pooping for like 4 days id rather have withdrawals.

does anybody have tips on fighting the exhaustion , i can barely move with out starting to breath heavy, im usually a really good in shape guy i just feel so weak right now, any suggestions?

Mainly what I do is just excersize. It isn't easy at all, but when you're done you'll be so tired that it'll be a lot easier to sleep. It may not help with exhaustion, but it sure as hell gets you some sleep.

as of last night; Experiment aborted, dosed 60 mg OC and used fleet enema , evacuated bowels. Will try again starting tomorrow.

Just to bump this 7 months later im still hooked. Its a vicious cycle.

I'm so damn late but I just saw this, and if you're still on that shit, think about this. If you had just quit when you posted this, you'd have gotten over the withdrawal many months ago and saved a lot of money. Just a thought.
