Festivals 2014

I think that Kelburn Garden Party is meant to be more family orientated compared to the Psychedelic Forest events they do. The Forest events are quality though, brilliant set up to get tripping. A few mates are working at the Garden Party, considering going up on the Saturday night for a sesh in the campsite if I can be bothered as its not to far from where I stay, the campsite was some laugh at the Forest Disco last month.
Haha were you one of the cunts keeping me awake by screaming PASTY at the top of your lungs all night? Forrest Disco was a proper good laugh though, met some real characters in that campsite!

Anyone make it to gottwood last weekend? Few mates went again , third year now I think said it was as good as ever it looks mint, based in some woods in north wales not far off a beach either. Some decent techno there I heard, not many big names but quality it seems.

Smaller festival definitely shitting all over the bigger ones for me, fuck walking about for hours on end like a lost dog.

2nd pic looks like Ray Mears built it.

Some twats on the radio yesterday were talking about Glastonbury and how it always rains over the course of the festival. :sus:

That's not accurate!!!

The two times i went it was relentlessly sunny from dawn to dusk throughout. Apparently there's gonna be intermittent rain showers there this weekend, im so glad i never went during one of those weekends where the tent areas got flooded in 3 feet of water and it constantly pissed down. My drugs and ciggies would have got wet for starters, what good would that be:?

Same here - would have been 1986 & 1987 If my memory serves me correctly. In 1986 there was an amazing electrical storm providing an impromptu light show for The Cure, though the rain passed over in the distance. It looked fantastic with a head full of acid.. :!

Sonisphere is not far off now!

Stage times were released a few days ago but have just been put up on the main website: Sonisphere Stage Times

Here are the main stage times:

Happy to say there will be extra trains running to London until 01:30... so there won't be a problem staying until the end of the Metallica set.

It looks like it's set to rain late Friday through to Saturday lunch... who knows though, forecasts aren't always that accurate until the day or two before. Can't fucking wait though... :D

I was contemplating going to Soni on Friday just to see Limp Bizkit but realised that could probably be described as a waste of money as I have already seen them 3 times. Plus I have no one to drive me there.

You just need to get to Stevenage by rail & there is a shuttle bus you can get to Soni... but yes, if you are going to go... go for a band you haven't seen!

Question for those in the know...

Will one nights worth of rain (not particularly heavy I don't think) on Friday be likely to result in much in the way of mud at a festival? I am assuming as it is mostly overnight, there won't be crowds traipsing through it & it'll probably be dry by the Sunday. The weather has been sunny around Knebworth for most the week I think.

I'm only going for the day, so I'm hoping just to get away wearing my vans... pretty sure I will but...

Getting the train is effort though ;) and more money. Would rather spend it on drugs tbh! Going up to birmingham tomorrow as well to move stuff into my new house so it wouldn't really be convenient. At least I'm seeing Eminem in a week!

Don't worry about the rain, it pissed down all late afternoon and evening when I went there to see slipknot in 2011 and I still don't remember it being overly muddy. That was on the Sunday as well. Just wear wellies, I wouldn't wear vans tbh but I'm fussy about keeping shoes nice. If you don't care so much it'll be fine.

Just pack both... what if it rains when you get there?

Of course I'll take them down but I wasn't planning taking a backpack to the festival... so it's either or... or maybe I could. Dunno.

Ah fuck it... forecast has changed. Looking more like rain. :D

Anyone need a letter for taking my valium script with me without a letter, its not a controlled drug my dad was saying :/ n getting them into tomorrowland should be fine right?

Looks like you and I have been at a lot of the same festis, and in the same vicinity and on the same drugs if the above is anything to go by :)...i remember that storm very well. Even more coincidental given that I've been to Glastonbury 10+ times (2000 being the last one) and only ever saw 3/4 bands on the pyramid altogether.

Should have been at either St Paul's Carnival or the the Surplus Festival today but health issues say otherwise :(

By "law" you need to take a letter from a doctor with you aye but like said above just chuck them in your little bag with all your other toothbrush and medication type shit, "wash stuff" and should be fine, ive not a script but I always just chuck them in there been bag searched many times and no one has ever mentioned it at festivals and airports, as you have a script should be fine, maybe take your prescription letter in there jsut in case.

Hey, thanks for verifying that for me mate - I was starting to think I'd imagined the whole storm on the wicked window panes that were knocking about =D I kind of gave up on 'hippie' festivals after 1990, preferring to frequent biker meets and folk festivals. I've not been anywhere for ages now, except for Hawkwind (and their support band The Australian Pink Floyd) at Jodrell Bank last August. Don't suppose you were there as well were you?

I think that garden party thing is a heavy family atmosphere. Tons of kids running about, rather than tons of drugged up idiots.
Just got back. During the day there was tons of kids about but as soon as it got dark the party people emerged.

Thanks guys gonna try get letter off psychologist, down to 5mg etiz, will.only have 120mg to take hopefully i be down to 2mg by 20th gonna be fookin hard this five mg etiz is doing fuck all :(
