I'm not sure where this thread belongs so I'd thought post it here.

I'm going to be going to Sonisphere (Knwebworth) next month and I'm contemplating whether I should bring my own gear with me or get some stuff down there. What I would like to know is are there usually any sniffer dogs present at Sonisphere and if so what would be the chances of getting nicked. I would likely take a few pills and a bit of weed.
 
Just to clarify I I'm trying to obtain information on peoples past experience at the festival to make a decision on whether or not I should take my own gear or not. To the trigger happy mod who warned me...I'm not looking for anyone on here to give me anything or vice verse. I just want information on peoples past experience at the festival so that I can make a decsion that result me not getting outed by sniffer dogs. Fair enough?
 
Well just to give you an actual reply I've been to Sonisphere and I don't remember seeing any dogs around. Or being frisked for that matter although I imagine that's randomly done - like at airports. Our bags got completely searched but that was it really. However I will add that I was... 16 at the time and being a good, innocent 16 year old I was not up to any drug taking/sneaking/general mischief on this particular occasion so was not looking out for security too much. I would say that you will likely be fine taking your own stuff in with so many people though, they can't scrutinise everyone after all. Have fun anyway, I love festivals, am thinking about going again myself if I can be bothered.

I haven't been to sonisphere but am going this year. I have been to download quite a few times and if sonisphere is anything like it there will be a distinct lack of dealers. I can't remember seeing any nor was there that many obviously fucked people.

So personally I would take my own. The risk of getting dodgy pills is more likely than getting knicked. Just roll up the stuff inside your tent. I guess you will be doing pills on the Friday for the Progidy? I will probably be in a similar state to you!
 
I'm not planning on taking any drugs whilst at Soni. I'm only there for the Sunday mind... will probably have a few beers or something.

Personally, I wouldn't want to risk getting caught trying to take anything in but then again, I've no idea how hard they look...

^This.. it's really not a druggy festival so chances of buying anything decent are really slim - it would be far safer to take your own. Never seen any dogs at a metal fest so I'd just keep it in your knickers.

Good. The last time I did Kratom at a metal festival I ended up with bruises all over me from moshing to system of a down and being too out of it too feel the pain at the time.. was fun though =D

Tehehe, hadn't thought of that, actually! I always end up covered in bruises anyway because I'm a fiend for moshpits. =D

Rather looking forward to it now, actually.

Are you all going for the weekend? I was thinking about just getting a day ticket like I did before but I don't know... Don't fancy camping, too dirty for me, just not sure if I can be bothered at all. Going to see Eminem 3 weeks today though, yeahhh <3
 
Yep, wouldn't bother with a day ticket for a festival.. The camping's part of the experience, for me.
 
Been to Reading and Sonisphere with day tickets just to see specific artists really (Eminem, Slipknot...) and enjoyed it. Might try camping at some point, I think I'd be ok if it didn't rain but you can never tell what's going to happen can you :P
 
Aye.. I have some brilliant photos from Download the year that it absolutely pissed it down. I truly embraced the mud that weekend. =D
 
Think that was the year I went to Sonisphere (2011?) because it pissed down during Slipknot as well haha. Gotta love England eh :P I wanted to go to Download this year to see Linkin Park but my mate who was driving bailed out so I had no way to get there. Sucks.
