Injecting 101

I've been thinking about this for some time and wanna try IV ketamine...

My questions are:

1) What are the risks of missing a vein - should I be able to access one easily?
2) What size barrel and needle should I use?
3) How do I do it? (I have researched this but just want your guys/gals opinions)

This is purely just a desire to want to escape into the pure bliss of a IV k-hole and feel the real effects.
 
My first attempt with heroin (smoking) was unsuccessful, so I too would like a few pointers on IV'ing drugs. Need to see what all this heroin hype is about : )
 
The finer points of IV drug (ab)use can't really be appreciated by just reading about it - you really need to be shown, otherwise you're just setting yourself up for disappointment at best, or a bloodbath and potential nasty infection at worst. Intramuscular injection is a whole lot easier, but unless you're really careful you stand an even greater chance of infection than IV...
 
Its not something I'm going to jump into, no-one I know does or is interested in this method. I was going to start with water anyway as to get the process right before going too far.
 
^Very wise indeed. Actually, I'm sure there's no shortage of internet show-offs on youtube giving their techniques away - It's a poor second to having someone experienced guide you through it, but if you're determined and there's no alternative, then give 'em a watch - you really need to 'see' how it's done...

Yeah, that sounds fine as far as size goes. I wouldn't really recommend IM over IV as it is much easier to pick up a nasty infection that way (any bacteria in your shot just sits multiplying in your tissues instead of being 'diluted' by your bloodstream), but it is certainly much easier. Either way, try to obtain sterile water ampuoles from a drug clinic.
 
I would not of thought the size of the barrel really matters but as far as the spikes go you want to use one as small as possible to save your veins. You are on a very slippery slope if you go down this route my friend but if you are going to do it be sure to keep everything clean and make sure you have properly registered if doing a I.V shot. I was pissing blood within a month of starting to I.V ket so you really need to think before you go ahead with this as you wont go back to snorting it once you have had a taste of a shot. Its really not worth it in the long run, you would be better of resetting your tolerance then just sniffing it if you must.
 
I've done a lot of IV ketamine.

The important thing is making sure that once you have registered the hit and put it in you take the spike out and recap it. You have less than ten seconds between putting it in and getting that neddle out and safe. If you haven't taken it out and recapped by the time you tasste the k in the back of your throat it's not good news.

In answer to your questions......

1. Missing a shot is no major deal most of the time. It's not nice but usually you'll get a missed shot lump and it will go down within a week. If you are unlucky it will turn in to an abcess and form a hard lump that may or may not get infected and hang around for weeks and turn black or even worse form an open abcess (but that's rare).

2. I used to use a 2ml barrel with a 25g spike because I couldn't fit a hole dose in a 1ml spike with a 29g spike without it recrystallising and blocking the needle. If I could I would try to fit the dose in a 1ml and suck it up and inject whilst the solution held enough heat to hold the ketamine but often it would recrystallise in the needle because I was trying to fit 200-250mg in 1ml of liquid, and just deal with the pain of injecting the hot solution. For most people 100mg in a 1ml is the way to go though, just make sure that as soon as you've put that hit in you take the spike out and get it recapped before the hole hits. I've found myself rolling around in bed on uncapped spike too many times.

3. Use google and links provided. You need to enter the vein at about 20 degrees with the bevel facing up. Get in the vein, suck back a tiny bit to register the vein by seeing dark blood enter the spike, and then over the course of about 5 seconds push it in. You will need a tourniquet to get a vein up, make sure you release it before pushing anything in to the vein or you will get spillage from the vein in to the injection site. Immediately recap that needle before you can taste the k in the back of your throat!!!!!!!!!

extra 4. Honestly man don't get yourself involved in IV K, abusing it has killed a 21 guy I was in treatment with in a roundabout way. You'll find yourself half out the k hole butchering yourself trying to get a vein. Aforementioned dead friend used to have a canula in a vein constantly so he could just inject in to it.
