How do I know if I am starting to get addicted?

I first experimented with ecstasy a few years a go, and was didn't like it, later I found out why - it was just a really bad and weak pill which lead to minor effects. Time passed, and a friend offered an idea to try a pill, so I had a gander through my contacts and asked a friend for a dealer, hours passed and I met the dealer and brought two pills for twenty pounds, the effects were absolutely beautiful. Regardless of people saying drugs are bad, MDMA has changed my perspective of life 100 percent, it has helped me to find my life goal and what I stand for. Anyway - I have took the pill six/seven times in the past 2 months, and have also done pure MDMA, after all this I felt fine, just a bit of a crave. However, I found a new dealer and he sold me Mcat instead of MDMA (the idiot) and I took it anyway, I have about 2g in one night, the next day I was fine, but now (the day after) I am starting to get a lot more of a crave, I don't know if it is because I think I might do or because I am actually having a proper crave. How do I know if I am actually craving? Sorry for the longish message

MDMA is not addictive. It does not create dependence. Mcat is more addictive though, so be careful with taking the drug regularly. If you're noticing that you're beginning to crave it alot, force yourself to stop using for a while.

Stick to MDMA, it's one of the least addictive recreational drugs (along with psychedelics such as LSD/psilocybin), but keep usage down to a maximum of once per month. This is not to avoid addiction, but prevent side-effects and loss of enjoyment from the experience.

I know man. MDMA taught me a lot of things that I'll hold with me for the rest of my life. Psychedelics drugs are fantastic tools when used properly. 'Drugs are bad' is simply Government propaganda. Everybody takes drugs, just some are legal, some are illegal, and some are socially accepted, while others aren't. In reality, these things don't reflect their safety nor ability for self improvement. Like what good does alcohol do? But it's legal.

Welcome to BL.

Youre taking it far too regularly and in such high doses, cut down the doses considerably and wait more between each time you roll. Also wait at least 4-5 months before your next dose.

yeah man you're rolling way too often. as others said once a month max should be good, the less the better of course.
and make sure you test your product.
it's unusual to be addicted to MDMA though mental addiction can develope with anything, even picking your nose lol
if you begin to find excuses to use more than once a month you should be concerned IMHO

Even if it is one of the least addicting drugs some people are more prone to addiction and anything can become a habit/addiction. Aside from the possible addiction that may arise from using it frequently you're also damaging your brain. Even if you weren't becoming addicted the amount that you're using is still excessive and will most likely affect your mental health and cognitive abilities.

If you're uncomfortable with the amount/frequency that you're using then stop using. If you notice it having negative effects on your everyday life, like you think about it all the time and can't concentrate or you'd rather take MDMA alone at home then go out sober with your friends, you should stop using. You seem to be uncomfortable with the 'cravings' that you feel, so I'd back off the MDMA for awhile at least until those feelings go away.

I remember someone saying that if life gets in the way of drug use then you're a hard user, but if drugs get in the way of life then you're an addict.

As it's already been stated, you can develop an addiction to just about anything when it starts to become habit. I too like to follow the once a month rule, and if I find some reason to go twice in a month, I generally skip out on rolling for a few months.
More than just for avoiding addiction though- I mostly follow this rule so that a) I don't start building a tolerance and b) it's been my experience that the easiest way for mdma to "lose it's magic" is to take it too often. So instead it's my special treat to myself for things like celebrating an exceptionally good commission check at my job, or a birthday (:
Chill out on rolling so often, and you should be good (:

Sooner or later with this type of usage you will experience some real nasty long term comedowns and side effects. i guarantee you wont be having those cravings once that happens...

Below is my understanding of Addiction

Addicted = You repeatedly doing something despite adverse consequences

Not only drug, anything can be addicted. eg Gambling, Ice-cream, Sports, Dating :)

I started out the exact same over 7 years ago, Now I am completely fucked. Have been in Rehab for 9 months and do NA daily (Narcotics Anonymous), I recently left and busted on Heroin and now I'm a complete mess and cannot stop using.. I wish I could turn back the clock to where you are RIGHT NOW... I was addicted to drugs the first ever time I ever tried my first ecstasy pill (which were full on back then). The way it made me feel was amazing, and I promise I have been chasing that felling for the past 7 years... Before you know it, other drugs will be put in front of you and even though you think you would never go there, being that curious at the beginning, personally took me down a horrible road, saying to myself that I would never use needles or never do this or do that. But the unacceptable becomes acceptable..

So hopefully the obsession and cravings ant that full on and you haven't given in already... If your not an addict, you would be able to flush it down the toilet and not think about it again if your that worried if its affecting you... But of course that's easier said than done... Just be careful and mindful, all drugs are so addictive so be careful and try and use it only on weekends or with other people... If the cravings get to much to deal with, put on a meditation from Youtube to relax and try and remember that what your cravings are only thoughts.. (Cravings are like waves and usually last 20mins)

Please keep me posted, all the best:)

Its good for procreation. I guess a lot of us would not be on this planet without Alkohol. Sure in anti alcohol societiys they procreate, too. From a a evolutioniary perspective i guess its good not have a lot of children from the same father..........

Back on topic. Addiction a kind of substitued. Ask yourself why do you want to take drugs. If the answer isnt i just wanted to try it out of curiosity then your welcome in the club. Because thats what the psychiatrist is gona ask you. Got to encounter them a lot because of some drivers license issues and i can tell you from their perspective you got a problem.

Wanting to do something because its fun as hell isn't the same as wanting to do something because you're addicted. But if you feel like its messing you up take a break or just limit use to once a month, that would mitigate most of the damage
