Methadone and xanax please help new member

I have been on a very low dosage of methadone for 2 years. Today I am cutting down from 7.5 to 5mg a day. I took 2.5mg of methadone and .25mg of xanax this morning at the same time (I get really bad anxiety every day). I can feel the effects of the xanax so far. Took both about an hour and 15 min ago. I obviously have a tolerance to methadone. But I am new to taking benzos. I was taking 1 or 1.5mg of ativan for a few days before I ran out so I switched to xanax. Is this an Ok combination considering I have a tolerance to methadone but not so much with benzos. I'm kinda paranoid and want to make sure 2.5mg of methadone and .25-.5mg of xanax is ok.

I think you'll be just fine. Just keep your doses as low as possible.

Thank you. I think I'm just being paranoid. I'm functioning normal just took a shower and feeling Ok. I think my nerves are just getting the best of me. Reading all of these posts talking about over doses had me a little scared.

The low doses are pretty safe combined. My concern would be if you take benzos every day getting dependent on them.

I'm pretty much just using them every couple of days or not even that when my anxiety starts to kick in. Trying not to every day. It's been almost 2 and a half hours and I'm leaving the house to go out so I guess I'm in the clear lol.
