I might be talking bollocks here, I've never had a formal music education, but I believe some metal bands use modes instead of the likes of the pentatonic scales used in blues. I believe that is something they have in common with classical music.

Cliff Burton studied classical music amongst other styles & had a love of Bach interestingly...

This was never a mission to set us on a parabolica until one of us eventually says robert johnson crossroads just to be obtuse (hell, Cisy Strut had this thread pimped out the second it walked through the door). Just wanna hear some tunes man. Mine ears are alive for da sounnda music inna de place now run di riddum one time my selector!. Enjoying until this bit of dhc runs down.

On a diferent note I'm going for Tracy Chapman - Fast Car because it was my boy from rehab died almost a year ago and I know he loved this tune.
