What's Good on European and African TV v. Walking the Dead

Haha i wont spoil it, that would be proper knobbish of me, im not that much of a bellend. just if anyone wants to know for some reason. the only GOT book ive read is the one thats covered season 4. well kinda read it, skimmed through bits

I read the first two books but they became a pain in the arse. I reckon, with regard to the books, it's a great story written by a terrible writer. It'll be one of the few examples of the TV show being better than the books, because they can take George Martin's great story and get some half decent writers to tell it.

Yeah im not a massive fan of his writing either. I assume george has told HBO how hes got it roughly planned to carry on and end incase he pops his clogs, hes old and fat. i was hoping the dragons would be in westeros burning shit up by now. nevermind though

I can't agree about Martin being a terrible writer tbh and I've read all of the books now, I just think it's such a clever and complex story and as a writer myself I can totally appreciate how much skill it must've taken to do. I like his actual writing style as well but that's just personal preference of course. Will be so gutted if he dies before finishing it all but got to admit that is looking quite likely, especially as there's been a 5 year gap between some of the books already and he is knocking on a bit now. Haven't watched any of this series yet, waiting for it to finish on TV so I can marathon it but the previous ones have been so well done/casted etc considering how fucking huge each of the books are.

How does this series end on TV does anyone know? Is it with the death of
Tywin Lannister?
Looks like it could be from where I know the series is up to so far.

Too much scattered dithering around for my liking, Daenerys Targaryens plot has be dull the entire season. infact i can barley remember anything shes done and she gets about 3 mins screen time per episode

The walking dead also copied that character scattering

Only seen series 1 of Walking Dead, got bored of it. If you're not enjoying Daenerys atm then you won't for the foreseeable future I've got to say :P I think her story is going to really pick up with the next book but fuck knows when that will be. I don't mind the scatteredness though because I like (pretty much) all of the characters, it can get annoying sometimes but it works well overall imo.

Ahh gutting, i thought her story was gonna actually progress. Same here i kinda got bored of the walking dead, season 2 was so dull, picked up again after though. i wonder if a series made on the back story of the game of thrones woulda been better than the way its moving forward. the amount of backstory history and whatever he came up with is nuts. so imaginative

The dragons are going to fuck up Westeros. That's what we want to see. It's always happening later though. 19 books down the line. When are the dragons going to fuck up Westeros? Later. I've had enough of Khaleesi. I hope she dies at the end of this season - she obviously won't though.

Arse well and truly ripped out it. Cunts wrote about 90 million pages. It's not like each book isn't an utter mission to get through. Halfway through the second one it felt like a shift, it wasn't enjoyable at all, but I wanted to know what happened (as I said, it's a good story) so still charged on. I'm quite glad I sacked it in favour of not spoiling the TV show.

This guy feels the same haha...

Ahhh I'm still enjoying her story but it's just different, hard to say without spoilering it (read the fucking books tbh :P) but if you were hoping for dragons in Westeros soon then out of luck I'm afraid unless they do the series differently from the books. You wouldn't be able to guess whose story ends up linking with Daenery's :P A series based on the backstory of GoT would be amazing, it's so complex (again read the books) and just brilliant, think ol' George needs to finish the main story first though haha.

How many Walking Dead series have there been now? Don't know if I can be bothered trying it again, so much else to watch, might give it a go if I get really bored but meh. I'm starting Supernatural and rewatching Dexter atm, both brilliant. Might rewatch Breaking Bad soon too.

I thought the white walkers were gonna storm down... dragons fly over and she was gonna fuck up westeros but changed her mind, burnt em all up and saved everyone, then she can rule the place with tyrion. i wonder if that will happen. that should happen anyway. fuckit ill finish the book whilst you dig up his corpse and kick him in the dick

4 so far. Dexter was wicked until the 6th season onwards... coulda ended so much better in my opinion but nevermind.. and fooking love breaking bad, one of the best series ever made without a doubt. seen it twice, was almost better the second time around... masterpiece. check out this vid thing i put together when i was bored and hungover awhile ago

Breaking Bad - Tribute Vid - Speak To The Wind

Cool vid. Think Breaking Bad must be my favourite TV shows ever tbh.

I'd say Dexter went downhill after series 4 really. 1 and 4 were the best :P The last series was unbelievably shit, I felt like killing the writers, what a shocking waste of a brilliant idea.

And hoping for dragons in Westeros soon? Damn. You certainly do need that joint ;)
