Does exercise really do you any Good?

Depends what you're looking for. It's good if you'd like to be healthy. Yes, it can make you hungry, but what's wrong with that?

It does increase your appetite slightly. You might end up spending a few more dollars on food per month.

On the other hand, it increases positive mood and greatly reduces symptoms of depression. It makes it easier to fall asleep at night. It also makes you live longer. People who are sedentary for a significant portion of their day generally die earlier. Also it feels really good after you're done.

I had issues with anxiety, depression, and bad sleep habits earlier in my life. Regular exercise was probably the most important factor in my healing process. Both good exercise and a healthy diet are pretty much the two most important things I can think of. You may not understand now, but give it a shot, and in a couple months you'll wonder why you didn't start earlier.

Better than drugs.

^^ This.

Regular exercise is good for your mental & physical health... it's a no brainer really. :)

I'm fortunate in that I really enjoy exercise but the trick is to start light & work your way up steadily. You'll probably feel like shit the first week or two, depending on what exercise you are doing but then you'll really start enjoying it.

It will increase your appetite somewhat, but that is balanced out by extra nutritional requirements of the exercise. You won't start over-eating if that's what you are worried about!

The mood lift and sleeping are the most positive aspects for me. Plus exercising in the morning kind of kickstarts my day, I feel like having a higher energy level all day

Couldn't agree more.

^yes absolutely!!

Based on my experiences, it made me recover from my comedown and got me into better shape. Are you concerned about gaining weight because of the increase in appetite? I also feel the same but it is more important for me to eat healthy than eat a lot of junk food.

A few points on this.. even if we end up loosing all the weight we want.. we still get in shape. We can also eat healthy food to address the increased hunger. Exercise has known positive effects against so many common and serious illnesses that to list them all would be an exercise, but the way it alleviates stress and thus the huge pile of illnesses they create or contribute to including/and heart disease, obesity, depression, anxiety, and so many more it may be the single most important thing we can do to do any good. It makes us happy, strong, confident, relaxed, and peaceful.. and this in turn causes such a strong chain reaction of positive benefits for us that exercise is so worth it that not doing it is crazy.

It can, but it wont completely solve all your problems. It has helped me somewhat, its a distraction and it gives you something to keep you healthy.

Immediately after cool down I'll feel physically knackered, but mentally bouncing off the walls. Give it just a few minutes and my body will have recovered, I feel great like I could take on the world, and I'll stay like that for most of the day!

as has been mentioned above exercise is great for the mind and body.

if i don't exercise for a long time i get depressed.

i also like to think of it as body maintenance. we aren't going to stay young and strong forever, and exercising will help the body deteriorate much slower.

woo exercise!!!

After weight training, a run or a long bike ride it's is the best high in the world! Exercising releases dopamine in the brain which makes you feel good about your self, have you ever heard of the saying "runners high"

I love my exercise.

I notice an improvement in my mood immediately after exercising, even something as doing one set of twenty pushups can help me to feel more comfortable in my own skin. I also find it easier to relax and meditate after exercise. I am sure the benefits are endless i have never even considered the increase in appetite.
