Anyone here tried it? Would rather take reports from trusted EADD members than some OTT Yanks.

Worth it as a work stim/cognitive enhancer?

It's shite to be honest. I got it a for a while - the proper expensive stuff not the "modalert" (fuck knows what's in modalert but it used to put me to sleep rather than stimulate me, also gave me nasty nausea which the real stuff doesn't). The first day you take it it's fine - makes you alert and keeps you awake. The second day not so effective, the third day you barely feel it. So if you really want it for one special day then give it a go but long-term you may as well stick to caffeine tablets.

Wasn't thinking of using it as a daily stim, but there are occasions near month end when the 14th hour of financial spreadsheets results in droopy eyes...

A couple of my friends swear by it, they couldn't be more different people.

One is a videographer/writer who uses it to get lots and lots and lots of work done.
The other is a builder who just uses it to help him survive work after coke binges!

May try myself soon, although as mentioned, quality between brand can vary hugely.

Not used it but heard it works very well at keeping you awake and focused even if you're a nights sleep or two short of what is normal.

Does it give you motivation?

Yeah it gives you some get up and go but nothing that a low dose of acid would give you. And I think that stuff I was buying was about £120 for 30 tablets. Eye-wateringly expensive. I would class it as better than caffeine tablets tho because you don't get so jittery.

If you do get the modalert then chewing em in your mouth helps them work but you still get the nasty nausea and headache.

ive been using it on and off for a few years. People comment that im much more upbeat, quicker, confident, 'on the ball', generally much faster at doing anything, more outgoing, energetic, got more get up and go etc. It's not physically addictive. Its very cheap. Its a good functional stimulant. This isnt a shill post either, im not selling the stuff (or anything else for that matter).

Never tried it but friends reckon it's quite functional. Or there's always methylphenidate, which isn't bad for a bit of focus/alertness. Possibly harder to get hold of, and probably a bit more habit-forming, though not really an issue if it's only an occasional thing.

Took a proper UK Modafinil 100mg for the 1st ever time a few weeks ago whilst i was at the football and drinking. Did not have any major effect apart from eliminateing my tiredness.

All of last week I have taken 1 200mg Modalert (generic modafinil) at work every day (100 in the morning and 100 at lunch time). I have stopped taking etizolam for sleep and thought i can combat my daily tiredness with modafinil. And it has worked pretty well. I can concentrate and focus a lot more and have generally been far more productive than normally. i have just felt a bit sharper than normal.

The plan is to take less modafinal whilst my natural sleep improves. So far so good and it does seem to have very minimal side effects.

Correction, modalert is cheap. Modafinil is crippingly expensive. Whatever is in modalert doesn't feel much like real modafinil.

OK i sit corrected. My earlier post did refer to Modalert, but it is supposed to be modafinil. I certainly wouldnt mind trying some Modafinil that isnt Modalert. Seems to be a simillar scenario to the Pregabalin situation, where to me the very cheap generic seems perfectly fine and dandy, but people who've payed ten times more for the branded product say that that is far superior. Again i wouldnt mind comparing to see if they are actually ten times better.

Meph is cheaper for wanking.
Sex and meph is a no-no for me...

DIY on LSD, that would be interesting! :D
Painting a square metre of wall would probably take hours. There's a lot of buzz around Modafinil but doesn't sound all that reading Ismene and Swedger's comments

Some people do find the modalert ok tho. I'd had the £120 for 30 tablets modafinil for a year or two, then I saw the modalert - "30 tablets for a fiver yippee!!". Then I took a couple when I had a big day on - within an hour I still felt like falling asleep, in fact I felt MORE like going to sleep. I had a thumping headache and I felt like throwing up. Not the best combo when you've got a lot to do. It did work better if you chewed the modalert first - perhaps they've got a coating on em? I still got the headache tho. Usually I'm a fan of the generic stuff but not the modalert.

I'm one of them, i did get headaches first few days of taking it this time round, but no longer. I allways take it a few minutes before a light breakfast meal, it seems to 'get digested' better that way. I would imagine that eventually a tolerance must form to the effects (positive and negative) but i cant recall that happening last time i took it for a few months.

Yeah i have been ok on Modalert. I did have an unexplained headache all of yesterday which was the 1st day in 6 i did not have some.

Ismene, i think 30 for £5 is a suspiciously low price for even Modalert.

50p a tablet is more realistic. You probably bought shite.

I think modalert is a standard price - is it 10 for a fiver? I forget. I don't think there's any lower quality modalerts.
