Why do people go to see gigs if they dont even like the artist

I was at a gig a while ago and some cunt was heckling them shouting "GET OFF, YOU'RE RUBBISH!!!" Why the fuck was he even there if he didnt like the band. I gave him a look that said as much, not knowing whether I'd receive a punch in the chops or succeed in shutting the fucker up. Thankfully he did shut up.
