Bupe How long do I have to abstain from suboxone before I can get high on suboxone again?

I've been off suboxone for 3 days now, how much longer do I have to not do my suboxone before I can get high FROM SUBOXONE?

You must really like buprenorphine, Animoe :)

It depends. After 72 hours, you will definantly get a great, long lasting buzz, especially since(I believe) Bupe is your DOC, or at least the one you maintain on the most.

Will you get "high"??? Probably. But it depends on tolerance, and how big of doses you we're doing before. But for me, 3-4 days without is when my tolerance gets low enough that the first shot of buprenorphine feels like a full agonist. And it lasts at least 12 hours, sometimes longer with a big dose.

However, it loses effectiveness quite rapidly after that. If you can wait almost 24 hours, the second shot feels amazing, too. But by the 3rd or 4th shot, it's effectiveness goes down exponentionally. Seriously, it's like a different drug.

I could answer better with more info, but doing it now should get you what you're looking for. It is worth noting however, that your at a point that opioid tolerance drops rapidly. If you could make it another day or two, it will increase the effects.
But, my advice, in the absence of more detail, is too do it now, 72 hours really is a good "break".

Keep in mind though, if your addicted, you'll never be able to get truly "high" again unless you wait long enough to break the physical dependence, while will take quite a while...

(PS: You IV, right? If not, the above info goes out the window, seriously, sublingual and parenteral buprenorphine are like 2 completely different drugs. Snorting would be about the same, though...)

Well how much are you on?
You may be on too high a dose cause I feel like I've taken a couple percs every time I dose my bupe I take 0,3mgs every 6 hours so it is a full agonist instead of a partial one. I've been on sub's for over a year now and still feel the same effects as the day I started.
It's really big info we need cause the higher the dose the longer you gotta wait..
Also high doses won't give you euphoria they just block themselves.

for people with pain/people wanting to get high taking less and lower dosages of SUB is way more effective than higher.. because the active metabolite of suboxone; norebuprenorphine is a full agonist and gives excellent pain relief....but bupe will only covert to nor-bupe and bind to the receptors if the dose of suboxone is not saturating all your receptors (3mgs and under)... in my opinon anyone taking more than 6-8mgs a day is a total waste... and taking more sub actually makes the antagonist properties more apparent and more bad side effects come about than good ones.

Giving people 0.2-0.4mg doses every couple hours is far more effective than higher doses because of the conversion to nor bupe.
If you take more than 2-4mg dose.. chances are your receptors will be saturated and the norebupe cannot bind to them meaning no euphoria/pain relief only withdrawals get alleviated. Its pointless to take sub at high doses even once or twice because with sub let's say you take 4mgs one day then go wow that was good next time I'll do 8 that will be twice as good. With bupe this isn't so, the 4mg will feel no different than 8mg the 8 will give more side effects than 4 mg but no better high pain relief making it pointless to dose more than 4mgs. The reason sub is like this is because at about 2-3 mgs your brain hits a ceiling dose meaning anymore you take will go to different receptors throughout your body but not your brain cause your receptors up there which get you high are already filled up but you have receptors in the stomach and all throughout your body bupe will attach to and give side effects such as constipation and headaches/joint pain but no euphoria as the ones in the brain are the only receptors that control that aspect of opiates.

I thought this was ridiculous at first while researching being a heroin addict I wways thought the nore drugs you did the higher you got but i tried it myself with bupe and it actually is true! Most people dont believe this because pyschologically they psyche themselves to thinking more is more.. and trust me the mind is a very powerful thing so they keep taking high doses thinking they are getting the most possible when they could be taking micrograms and getting buzzed like they are taking vicodan or oxycodone. Also when dosing now doses the nor -bupe wears off in a few hours causing your plasma levels to go down drastically before the next dose meaning when you take your next dose even a few hours later you will feel another rush cause the last dose wore off already almost as if you took a short acting full agonist. Doing it this way means no waiting 3days to get a buzz from sub again.

I know it may make no sense being a drug addict but trust me less is more with this drug because of the NOR-BUPE.. its one of the biggest secrets about this drug.

So lower your dose get rid of your side effects and feel buzzed every time you dose.

Any questions let me know okay?

This is true but only if your taking large doses that saturate all your opiate receptors in the brain making you hit a plateau where anymore bupe you add doesn't affect your experience anynore until you wait the half life out and let your plasma levels return to Lower. When dosing micrograms your level returns faster meaning you can dose multiple times a day and get a rush every time. I don't see a difference between 2mgs and 4 mgs or even 8 12 mgs it's all the same to me I only notice difference's in dosing up to 2mg after that it seems to kinda plateau and anymore just causes bad effects and adds to the duration its in your body blocking euphoria from all opiates including more bupe.
And IVbupe and any other ROA is pretty much the same you don't get a huge rush or anything when injected. lt still takes a while to cross the Blood brain barrier when injected. It does have a higher bioavailability though meaning less can be used as none is wasted in saliva or anything. It also hits quicker despite not having a rush still but the benefits for me don't outweigh the risks as IV bupe is horrid on your veins

What exactly are you expecting from this "high" you're trying to achieve? Ha. I take it you're just using bupe recreationally, I guess.. but as it's only a partial agonist, it's euphoric effects really dissipate quickly with consistent use. Taking less will actually result in more euphoria. So, after not taking any for a week or so, if you take like .5mg's or something along that line, you'll probably feel a little something, but as soon as you start using it consistently again, you will not get high anymore. That's how the drug works and the reason why it is so effective for opiate replacement therapy.
