The EADD a trifle annoyed thread.

Was a bit trifled last night... cats screaming at each other and fighting in the middle of the night... what an absolute racket, ended up shutting my window then couldnt sleep cos it was too hot, its happening more and more regularly now, shame i havent got a decent water gun or something. woke up in the morning and they were there as clear as day on the pavement, opened my window and then they started making a racket again, if theyre there next time i'll be running out the door naked or in my boxers throwing stuff at them

^ I'd say that comes a bit higher than a trifle but agree on general principle.

I hate that. My Non-Stick pan lasted a total of a week before stuff was sticking.

I used to know how to season a pan properly. Oil and salt are involved as I recall. And heat. Don't think that works on pre-non-sticked pans though. They just plain stick :!

Paid two quid for the fukker at the charity shop too I'll have you know :X

(no scratches or otherwise obvious marks or blemishes or even signs of use so not taking that as an excuse either)

Those Tefal non stick frying pans do what they say on the label, my first one lasted about a year, then i bought 2 and kind of rotate them. They have lasted 10 years or so and still look and work just fine. Its worth paying the £10-£15 for one of them. The bargain basement non stick pans are a complete waste of time and money.

(Tefal: feel free to send me a box of pans, for promoting your prouducts :p)

of all things to request for free and you go with a box of frying pans...

its just what the topic happened to be about, i mean i could write complinetary stuff about Audis and Range Rovers, or top of the range Sony 50 inch TVs, but i dont think I'd stand much chance of being gifted any of them, maybe might get an Audi or RR sticker, or T shirt if im really lucky.8(

opinion is divided on whether non-stick pans need to be seasoned. i've never done it and my non-stick pans, when treated with care (i.e. no metal implements), have always worked well for years.

we have a classic cast-iron skillet like this:

which is properly seasoned and maintained and is effectively non-stick.

I am a trifle annoyed at myself. I was just putting up some shelves in the kitchen, as you do ..... And I managed somehow to overlook completely that there was a power socket directly below where I was drilling ..... and therefore a buried cable behind the same spot .....

Quelle chevalle vertigineuse, as they say in Paris.

At least the trip switch did what it was supposed to do. Still going to have to chisel out the wall to get to the damaged cable, splice in a new length and Polyfiller it all back up again as soon as possible, though .....

I took an antihistamine after getting itchy late this afternoon, started feeling less so & then after dinner I'm itchy again. :!

when I wake up in the morning I am usually pretty hungry and have to use the bathroom but I really dont feel like getting out of bed

Definitely don't season a non-stick pan. Just give it a quick wash to get rid of any grease and then cook away I mainly just wipe them clean with kitchen role. Avoid as much abrasive activity or washing as possible. An iron pan is different though.

I would have assumed that the cables would have been routed from underneath the socket rather from above. Shows what i know i guess.

I have put up a few shelves and apart from having huge problems with the plaster being more than a hundred years old and crumbly and dusty as fuck, i have, probably, more by luck than judgement, so far managed to avoid drilling into electricity cables. 8(

So I woke up around 03:30 needing the toilet as I often do & was having trouble getting back to sleep because my room was bright. By 04:00, it was bright daylight in my room despite a blackout blind. I didn't really manage to get satisfactorily back to sleep. :!

Apparently the sun rises 30 minutes earlier up here compared to London...

Bit of a love/hate relationship with the Summer months.

*edit* - the irony. My room was a reasonable darkness when I went in there not long ago... the joys of having a north facing room
