I have personally been on daily dispense rx's of oxycodone, morphine and now diazepam....wondering if anyone else in Canada or other countries do this?just wondering as someone once tried to call bullshit on the fact that I got daily dispensed my DOC for addiction.

Lets exclude methadone and subs cuz obviously not everyone gets carries.

Off subject but i broke my hip and other issues in September right here in Philly they tried giving me a bottle of 7.5 Hydrocodones right from the Physical therapy center after i told them i couldn't take narcotic pain meds.... i didn't know they could do that, i thought they'd have to write an RX and wouldn't it be illegal for them to Have it on hand to give you they had BOXES OF THEM BOTTLES and would mearly put a label around i... My name was mearly written where it said name and the rest all also in BLUE PEN even the Dr's Signature...
Weird right?

I used to get that with oxycodone for a while when my doctor had me tapering.
It's not done often usually for people who are tapering down their narcotics.

^^^Ive only ever heard of it here in Canada....I didnt have to taper of my Oxycontin 80s, but did have to switch to methadone as soon as a clinic opened in my small city...and to AnewKindOfArmy, yeah Ive literally seen ppl with percocet prescriptions or Tylenol #3 scripts so large they have just slapped a sticker with the patients name onto the bottle they are dispensed from. (like the one that comes from the pharm company)

I've received pills in the pharm bottle before, just depends on what you're getting (and if the Rx perfectly matches the number in the bottle).

I've never heard of daily dispense Rx's though, that sounds like a pain in the ass. I have heard of pharmacies that would fill just part of your script if you didn't have the money though, they'd just hold onto it and give them out to you as you could pay, haha.

I know of someone who has a fentanyl prescription for opioid maintenance here in Montreal, but if I remember correctly she gets hers dispensed weekly. It's very rare though, most people can only get methadone and buprenorphine.

Every 3 days would be ideal that way I could eat all the pills on the first day and by the time I started feeling like shit it would be time for meds again.

Fentanyl for ORT? That's ridiculous. With such a short half life, she'd have to get dosed multiple times a day. That's perhaps the dumbest opiate to give for maintenance. I have never heard of such a thing that makes no sense.

Maybe it's a patch? That would probabally work. I've never had them though so I could be wrong.

Yeah maybe. Still it just makes no sense to script fentanyl, in any form, for opiate maintenance. But I mean, then again, they have actual heroin maintenance now in some countries, hah, so I guess anything is possible.

Apparently she has a heart problem that makes methadone unsuitable, so the doc prescribed her fentanyl patches (he was probably unaware of the fact that people often smoke it).

Like I Saïd in Canada it's pretty common (in my city anyway) for ppl to be on daily dispense scripts for opiates and benzos. In most cases with the opiates though is the person usually has some reason they can't go on methadone like having a bad heart or former clients who got kicked out of the program.... it's usually for example 120 mgs of er hydromorph in the form of 2 30 mg hydromorphContin capsules twice daily.my close friend actually gets just that after being cut off 120 mgs of methadone after failing several ECG's. And Ya I also know a girl who gets fent patches for maintenance three A week or whatever. She has to bring in the old patch when she goes in for her new one....

Also some ppl like me have our doses monitored. I only dose 100 mgs of diazepam once a day tho

A lot of us here in Canada Dont pay for our meds lots of ppl are coveredthru work or welfare. I'm an indigenous Canadian so all my meds are free.it's part of the treaty the Europeans made with my people

And Ya they do that at my pharm too if u don't have all the cheddar to cover it they hold back what Ur short for

It's illegal to script anything for opiate maintenance besides bupe and methadone here in the states. A doctor can have two patients that they treat for opiate addiction, but they have to send a letter to the DEA to explain why that person cannot go to a methadone clinic or something like that.

Ya u guys have some draconian drug laws bro

I knew a guy from Ottawa who had daily dispense Vyvanse. He was talking about getting the enzyme that activates it so it could be prepared for snorting. He also did a month's worth of some benzo he was prescribed at once, blacked out for 5 days then woke up to the smell of burning plastic since he was smoking the whole time.

Hmmm odd...usually daily dispense scripts are reserved for drugs that cause physical dependence...but daily stimulant pick up isn't unheard of. I knew ppl that had to pick up their Ritalin every day after being busted selling em
