Snoo V7 - ah spring, has sprung, a SNOO! (bless you).

New girlfriend snoo. It's been a good weekend after a week or two of seeing each other a lot and one of us finally making a move, and also nice to be finally rid of the clusterfuck I was in. If I believed in soulmates...you know what I mean hit it off straight away no awkwardness at all, and she is fond of drugs, drinking, playing videogames, and being a lesbian. Really happy <3

Nice one Snolly,sounds great.
I had an unexpected text from my dear old mum this afternoon telling me she had put £30 into my bank account.
Well chuffed, may have to treat myself to some beers =D

Cheers :D And grats on unexpected money, always nice.

Great to hear that, snolls!

Also snoo for currently having free wifi.. mobile broadband data gets eaten up quite quickly, it seems.

Ta :D

Also yeah, it doesn't half get used up quickly. Was on it for first two and a half months here. Half of it was getting a signal, then the bastard usb cables kept breaking, then when I used it as a hotspot it was shit.

Big up free wifi

Finding my various payment cards and things a few hours ago after putting them in a "safe place" whilst I was away last weekend. May not sound so snooful but if I hadn't I'd be sat here in the dark with nowt working by now cos I was almost out of leccy. Minor panic ensued when I realised and - for once - I actually did find a thing I was looking for.

Had a nice surprise today when my nurse told me I should be able to get a Macmillan grant to help pay for things I may need.
She is going to fill in the forms with me tmrw. Would be nice if I could get enough to buy some cheap carpet for the hallway.

A wire inside the output jack on my guitar came loose & needed soldering. Anti-Snoo right?

...I took it to get repaired & got a call 30 minutes later to say it was ready. It cost me... wait for it... £2 Ahh-SNOO! :D

I'd like to be able to say "My first soldering iron cost me less than that!" but it didn't.

I did borrow my dad's soldering iron to add a 6.3 jack to a record player (fortunately, not a live-chassis type) and made a reasonable job of it, apart from a burn on the carpet and also the amplifier not having much gain.

My Dad can solder very well, he can also weld & do carpentry yet he never taught me anything. He claims I showed no interest but why would I when all I did was stand & watch... never asked me to do anything other than pass tools. :D

I really should get him to teach me how to solder. To be fair, I've helped him a few times so I could probably manage but would need some practice before doing something fiddly.

You used to be able to get bags of assorted resistors and capacitors from radio shops, which were ideal for practising soldering (and, given the selection of values present, not much besides); just needed some tag strip or breadboard to solder them to. Eee, them were t' days ..... I think flux fumes might have been my first proper high. Not that the modern stuff is any good for that .....

My parents approve of my girlfriend. Thought they'd be gone by the time I told her to just come in but no, she was early. Turns out they're impressed.

Nice sentiment, but vaguely worried now, especially as Mum said 'ah you'll be a good influence on her!'

Also hot solder isn't great for me, I've always been shite at stuff like that. Burny. Creosote, though <3
