My girlfriend doesn’t react to normal doses. We suspect her liver is just way too efficient.

With MDMA she feels almost nothing at 2,4mg/kg, she needs almost 3mg/kg and even then she doesn't feel as much as I do…

She never could get drunk from liquor, but does from wine (and then gets sick and vomits).

She's not on antidepressants.

OUR QUESTIONS:
- Is the dose of MDMA that works well for her (around 3mg/kg) likely dangerous/damaging for her?
- Is there a better explanation for her need for high doses than “likely a very efficient liver”?
- Is there a solution to make normal doses work for her?

is your MDMA tested? what's her weight? some people just have a higher natural tolerance to drugs.

with a substance like MDMA, it's important not to dose too high for only because she doesn't feel much it doesn't mean that she won't experience the side effects.

EDIT: I just saw the "tested" prefix

try a normal dose MDMA and 30mg nooopept. Has never been anything shy of mind blowing IMO

This ^. Or Piracetam at 4800 mg 2 hours ahead of time. Obvious, I know, but she isn't taking SSRIs (antidepressants) is she?

If her digestion is ineffective for some reason, have her try plugging. That way, digestion is eliminated as a factor.

Another thing to try is an antacid containing magnesium about a half hour before swallowing.

One more idea is quercetin, which can inhibit the liver's breakdown of MDMA. Let me know!

Just a note, if you do decide to go down the route of trying to stop MDMA from being broken down, then be careful. This could cause strong potentiation of the drug.

When you take a medication or a drug by mouth, it goes through something called "first pass," which is a trip through the liver, before it is fully broken down. The drug goes straight from the gut through what's called the hepatic portal system (a system of arteries that brings nutrients from your gut to your liver right away) to the liver, where it is broken down a bit before being sent out into the body to create its effects. This is why you have to take more of a drug when you take it orally compared to other ways of taking it: because so much of it is broken down by first pass.

Taking the medication or drug by other routes, such as nasally (snorting) or rectally (plugging) skips this first pass effect and delivers it straight into your general bloodstream, heart, brain, etc. This might be a good option for her to try! Although I'm kind of wary of snorting or plugging M, just because there are so many contaminants in it normally, I know plenty of people who do it and have no problems from it as long as it's only occasional. Research both methods. It's possible that she is just very lucky and has a kickass-strong liver! Warning, though: When snorting or plugging, it tends to hit you much quicker and stronger. DO NOT TAKE A FULL ORAL DOSE in one line or one plug!! For snorting, often 1/4 dose of what you would take orally is enough, and then you can top up later. For plugging I'm not exactly sure what the dose should be, but I know that if you drink half a bottle of vodka you may get drunk, but if you take half a bottle of vodka...ahem, rectally, it can easily be fatal (since it's not going through first pass and is instead going straight to your bloodstream). Keep it safe, do your research, and report back to let us know what happens! :)

Nr, Rabbit,

I have a similar situation to your girlfriend. I rarely drink, but I have a very high tolerance to alcohol. I have a naturally high tolerance to many other drugs over a wide range (opiates, Novocaine, most psychedelics, etc.), but especially MDMA/MDA/Methylone/Mephedrone - I've taken these substances close to or above 1 gram in a single dose to get where I want to go. My guess is the same as yours - that I either break these things down really efficiently, or I have some mutated enzyme or receptor that makes my reaction very weak. Anecdotally, I have not experienced any bad side effects from taking these huge doses, but wouldn't recommend doing this without a cautious approach. Gradually increase doses and take time off in between attempts. It's a frustrating process because a) you don't get high along with everyone else in multiple sessions, b) the whole thing will take months to work through c) you use as much material as could get a whole room full of people high.
For the most part, I've abandoned the idea of empathogens for myself - just seems not worth it. The above responses give some interesting ideas about combinations. I may try some of that if I ever feel I have the time and material to give it another shot some day.

Good luck to your girlfriend.
