How many here have been hospitalised as a result of drugs?

Not me, I'm good at taking drugs.

I would like to point out that anyone who says they haven't been to hospital because they are "good at taking drugs" is just plain ignorant. I hope that was sarcastic :\

It's doesn't matter whether you take drugs sensibly or not, you can still end up in hospital. I'm not saying it's inevitable or even likely, but don't kid yourself that it will never happen to you.

A phenazepam blackout (the first and last time I took it...) resulted in several hours of surgery, a fair few days in a ward and a further month off of work.... Apparently I was a bit of a dick in hospital - to make matters really awkward I live a doors down from one of the nurses that helped me/put up with my shit.

I've still got no idea how I managed to keep that job. I've been told I was sent home for being 'unwell' several times before the incident that led to hospitalization. I've never been able to work out whether I was able to successfully pass it off as a breakdown (I was under a lot of stress at the time) or whether people were just too polite/felt too awkward about it (probably more likely). Needless to say I got a new job as soon as possible...

Ended up at the ER after a stim overdose, heart almost stopped. Brain scans, ECGs, tubes in every single part of my body and a few days in a hospital bed. Needless to say the doctors didn't particularly appreciate having to treat a drugged-up patient. Also wasn't allowed to sit up for fear of passing out (reason why I went to the hospital in the first place is cuz I fainted about 20 times in a row, fell on my face and broke my nose, wooh).

Well I've managed 35 years drug taking so far without dialling 999 but yeah, plain ignorant, you nailed me there, guilty as charged. All my advice is also shite, you're safer putting me on ignore.

No.
Came very close - had the stupid idea to try the branded RC pills a few times - first time: blacked out, severe clonus, drenched in sweat, delirium, vomiting. I lost all voluntary muscular control, tore half of my hair out, 2 black eyes, bust nose, half of my lip missing.
Second time: nice empathogen high for 3 hours, but awful comedown. 24 hours later I just started tripping out of nowhere, and dropping in and out of consciousness. Tripping can be challenging enough on the mind when it is voluntary. Tripping without expecting it, while going about your day, in public, is terrifying.

What brand were they?
'Fury Xtreme' or something like that.
Supposedly were 5-EAPB/MPA/5-MeO-DALT. Having had all three as pure powders, and mixing them on various occasions, I can categorically say the pellets were either dosed wrongly to an incredible degree, or simply contained entirely different actives compared to those labelled on the packaging.

The first one seemed like a serotonergic overdose, the second time - I have no idea.

Fuckin ell

Glad i've never properly touched any branded stuff.,,, few mates used to buy branded shit after the meph ban, got offered some lines and wasnt fussy about hoofing stuff.... so ripped it up... awful shit, made me dizzy and edgy and wrong. then they got this "Marching powder" bollocks and after that they stopped

As if the RC world isn't sketchy enough, the branded products are the worst of the lot!

Was dumped at the local hospital by my sis as i was in extreme withdrawels - took a hit of all my filters for a 2nd time that actually sorted me out but then they spent ages with the stethascope and then a ultrasonund and said i had deposits on my heartr valves, that put the shits up me , thought i was gonna die but they said it was from all the shit i had injected over the years and was lucky they had found it. went back into wd's a few hours later but they kept me in for 4-5 days till the heart thing was sorted didn't give me anything for wd's till i looked at my chart on the 2nd day nd it id i could be given 20mg of methadone if needed IF FUCKIN NEEDED, so i pinged the nurse fot some juice and puked it stright up gain luckily she was really nice and after i begged she got me a pill cant remember what it was but think it was a palf.

Qft.

A few of my mates tried some stuff called Matrix Fury...One ended up falling through a glass table & an Xmas tree.

Dodgy.

Twice.

1. GBL: My parents, when I was a fair bit younger decided it was a good idea to chuck the measuring equipment out and not the GBL. I was physically addicted at this point so I tried to judge a dose by pouring as little I could into a full pint of lemonade. My plan was to sip the lemonade till I felt better. Next thing I know I'm in hospital with all my family around me. I'd nearly died apparently but on the flip side they give me a fat shot of diazepam to reverse the effects of the GBL overdose.

2. Heroin: I was upset about the split up of a long relationship 8-9 years. I cooked up a shot and decided that I didn't really care whether I survived or not. I did the shot, I went blue, nearly died again but Naloxone brought me around and here I am today :) It was fortunate I was with other people. I'm 40 days clean of Heroin now though. :D

No more hospital visits for me. I'm running out of chances.

I didn't expect this response from you. There's so many variables to take into account when getting high that's it's nigh on impossible to be a 'responsible drug user'. It's probable that taking the right precautions and accounting the associated risks that you can avoid the hospital. It's however the case that the drugs we take aren't pure, taking drugs whilst already inebriated is a submittal of capacity and so you can't be entirely held responsible for stupid actions. I've tried doing ridiculous things whilst having taken too many benzos. I know you could say "well, don't take so many benzos" but their very nature make you a bit careless.

Word.

You read some of the stories on here and it's like - no fucking wonder you've ended up in hospital.

Shambles, I'll use you as an example lol, you ended up in hospital because you were drunk and trying to inject ketamine into your arse. No fucking wonder you ended up in hospital! :)

I don't do things like that, so I don't end up in hospital.

I've ended up in hospital twice, but not related to drugs. Related to booze.
