Gibberings CLXV - Reported for being racist against drugged up clowns

I know Metallica aren't to everyones taste but IMO tracks like "One" especially, and several tracks on their Black Album are all time classics. I'm not really very much into metal but from what Ive heard Metallica do it in a style that I like. It would only be worth catching a glimpse of Rolf Harris or Garry Glitter for the embarrasing spectactle of how many beer cans or other missiles would be hurled at them. It would all get very nasty indeed. :sus:

Fuck yea love metallica

You seen any of my guitary things max?

Not yet Dan as i couldn't watch them on my phone but now i've got a laptop i will be able to. Where can i find them Dan and i will have at look tonight or over the weekend.

I must admit I did watch that Metallica doc about them going for group therapy or whatever it was. I don't think a better reason for loathing the pricks is possible. What a bunch of utter bellends. And they're music irritates me. They really are utter nobheads though.

Was questioned about my rather strong opinion of U2 recently and it's basically the same thing. I genuinely don't like the music in either case and when you factor in the nobendery it rather seals the deal.

Agreed on Lars

Each to their own on the music... love pretty much all genres... hardly listen to them now tbh

Heh, the main reason I never got into Metallica was the drumming. Still seen them about 3 times though, hard to avoid at festivals and the singalongs are usually quite fun. Seeing them again at Sonisphere this year, no doubt.

And I think my dad's about to poison me by serving undercooked split peas in a curry. And obviously I'm going to eat it because I'm polite. Hello, intestinal pain. :|

That would've been Some Kind Of Monster. Possibly on my recommendation. :D

Seriously, anybody who doesn't like Metallica should watch it. Firstly, you won't believe how rich and pampered they are. It's just odd and wrong. Brilliant film.

I regret not having a drug stash in the house. I've had to drink, which ain't good. Now I dearly wish I had a stray benzo or two. Bollocks to it all.

I have an overwhelming dislike for corporate rock wankers no matter who they are. If the music were decent at least there'd be that but it just does nothing for me but annoy me and when the people involved are so utterly vomit-inducing there's really not a straw left to clutch at to save them.

Quite possible was on your recommendation cos I can't imagine me deciding to watch it for any reason other than a personal recommendation cos... it's Metallica why would I give a shit? I was genuinely shocked just how ridiculous they are. Makes Spinal Tap look tame in comparison. What utter arses. The fact they didn't even realise how badly they'd come over from releasing such a debacle kinda says it all. How out of touch is it possible to be?!? 8(

They were also big on suing their own fans which I never quite understood the rationale behind. Why piss off the people who gave you that lifestyle and that ability to be such insufferable bellends? Was nice to see a few fans doing the album burning thing if only because most folk I know who are big into Metallica are big into Metallica and they can do no wrong no matter what.

Brian Warner aside, right?

Hahahahahahaha! Yes :p

Actually not quite. He worked for a long time before going completely corporate. I like his creative period - I don't even bother with his recent efforts cos everything I've heard from them has been generic crap. I do realise I've just left myself wide-open for calls of double-standards cos Metallica presumably were less irritating when they were less horribly corporate. My get out clause being I still never liked their music even on the early albums so that comes under personal taste.

I have a similar opinion of U2. I don't completely hate the music, it just doesn't interest me at all, but I do completely hate the band.

The Edge :| Fuck off

To be fair, and I rarely am, he bought me a drink in a south London pub once (Royal Oak , Vauxhall), completely unprompted and, has to be said, he was as ego free as a rock star gets.

Their music's still shite though.

You're not mentioning that you've also found the Lord, Dan? =D

And.. it's pretty quiet without Evey, innit? I think I'm missing her.
