Misc Methadone and xanax with 0 tolerance?

Hi everyone. so I have 20 mgs of methadone that I'll split with a friend, the problem is, I don't get really high from 10 mgs.
there is just a nice relaxation but no nods and little sedation.
my question is, I know this is a really dangerous combo, but would it be safe to add lets say 0.25 mg of alprazolam AFTER THE DONE FULLY KICKS IN to boost the high and maybe get to nod?
I have liquid xanax so I can add less.

maybe if I started out adding 0.1 mg (1/10 of 1 mg) and seeing how it goes?

Keep in mind I'm always VERY careful when dealing with potent drugs such as methadone and know the potentially lethal outcomes.
any thoughts?

P.S. I have no tolerance atm, I snorted 1 mg subutex last weem but I dn't think that counts.

I think at those doses you should not have a problem. It is a fairly significant drug interaction but usually with higher doses.
 
I mean.. the doses are small, so that helps, but having no tolerance.. it's still not safe. Combining benzos with opiates can lead to really unpredictable effects, especially in somebody with no tolerance. Even with small doses like that, the addition of another CNS depressant like a benzo can hit you really hard and put you in the danger zone.

Just be careful.
 
You're safe... but try not to fall under then domes spell. It's a bitch to kick!
 
Be careful man, alprazolam is pretty hard hitting and methadone is a terrible opioid to combo other cns depressants with.
Your small doses are a good idea but as scagnattie said benzos and opi's can throw out weird effects in combo.
 
People actually like the drowsiness on opioids?? I prefer euphoria without feeling drowsy. But I am not experienced.

Sometimes people who are experienced with heroin will use less hard hitting opiate/oids with something sedating (commonly 1st gen antihistamines or benzos) to re-create that heroin 'nod'.
 
Yeah, by saying ".25 mgs of xanax is fine to take with methadone", I was really failing to emphasize how dangerous that combination really can be! I personally know a handful of people that have died from that combo...The benzos end up just putting you to sleep, CNS depression kicks in, and you're gone..

So yes, .25 mgs of alprazolam with a low dose of methadone is probably safe, but any more than that could be very dangerous! Methadone and benzos is a very sedating, "soulless" kind of high anyway....and it's also one of those things that's like a "knock-out punch"...You don't end up really remembering much of what went on, if anything went on at all, other than sitting there staring blankly!

Yep, Ive known one person that died from methadone/Xanax combo. I wouldnt do it, it may only be 10mg, but since you have no tolerance, your body is not used to opiates and methadone is quite a strong one to start with, even if its just recreactional usage, Id say if you took the whole 20mg without the Xanax, you will feel pretty good for at least 4-5 hours.
