Gibberings CLXIV - I don't Have a Clue if These Numerals are Right I'm Still Drunk

Photos of cacti you say. I've got three San Pedro on the go- I hadn't planned to originally but I'm just going to let them grow forever. Cacti are cool
Really? Teheh.. yeah, there's that internal debate about growing them until old age vs making a healthy cactus smoothie. They're kinda pretty though, aren't they?

Also brought up incorrectly.

Care to explain? My dad and my brother are both fairly into their football, I guess I just decided to make my own choices about hobbies and interests when I was growing up, instead of just blindly following theirs.

Indeed. The Fukked Thread would appear to be fairly appropriate too - having fun there? =D

it baffles me how much money is involved in that shite, and footballers all over front page news and whatever, as if thats the most important thing going on in the world right now out, fukushima power plant leaking 100s of tonnes of radiation into the sea and do we hear about it, nope, but we get hammered with news about talentless bellend celebritys, crazy society

Quite. I suspect more papers are sold if you put footy or any given 'talentless bellend' (not even sure they really need to be actual celebrities do they?) on the front page than if you lead with an in-depth examination of the rather big mess that the Fukushima incident left behind (and continues to add to daily). I can only presume "the average person" prefers to read newspapers that distract, titillate and entertain rather than providing much actual news. Actual news tends to be a bit less fun than gawping at details of who somebody you have no real interest in happens to have had sex with. It is but pabulum for the most part but that's what we want apparently. Not sure we're offered a huge amount of choice in the matter but the fact is tabloids sell a helluva lot more copies than more newsy newspapers. It's just another business when it comes down to it - they're there to make money not provide a public service or to educate the masses.

Or put more succinctly...

Panem et circenses.

Quite.

MrsMist just arrived home. Ex-MrsMist by the looks of it. She cant handle my situation anymore, to be fair she does deserve so much better.

Unfortunately you cant explain addiction, it has to be experienced to be appreciated for what it is.

The tradegy of all of this is that we're so good together when we're good, we have two beautiful children, a wonderful house etc etc... I had it all, all that I needed and I let that poison back into my head and its robbed me, my partner and children of the good life we could of had.
