How does it make you feel when someone cries in front of you?

It makes me want to cry too, and to hug them and tell them nice stuff to make them feel better. Anyone, not just people I care about.

I feel concerned for them. Generally if someone's crying, they're hurting. I have a thing with people crying - I have to go ask if they're ok and try to offer some comfort. Doesn't cost me much and it might make all the difference to them.

I feel empathy, regardless of the nature of their cry. I feel sad when someone is crying of sadness, uplifted when someone is crying of happiness. I usually don't show any of this, though.

Sometimes I get angry, if I find that someone is crying for dubious or extremely vain or petty reasons. Assuming they're adults.

I tend not to be affected as I have been through a lot I have pretty thic skin but it really depend on why there crying if its for attention or pity I will be the first to tell them to get the fuck over it, death is awkward for me as I never cried buying any of my mates or relatives but I understand so I tend to comfort them as much as I can.

The reason people feel awkward around crying is from the misplaced feeling of responsibility to make it stop or fix it. It's the rare person who can just let it happen and be comfortable with simply being a witness to someone's sadness without making it be about him (or her).
I have a whole new relationship with crying since my son died. I cry all the time because I literally cannot help it, in front of everybody and anybody. The one place I manage to stuff it down is in front of my students. My friends just let it happen because they know I have zero embarrassment--the tears are just going to come and they always stop. It's a very comfortable feeling to not attach a whole lot of drama to tears--they are just a very good way to change your brain chemistry.

WE see people laughing, we laugh.
See people crying, the eyes swell up.
It's part of a universal language and it's a beautiful thing.
Shows we're human beings and compassion is inter grained

It depends if their cry face looks like kim kardashian crying.... haha if not then I genuinely feel bad and try and comfort them.
