Benzos Klonopin Withdrawals

Hi, I'm new here and kind of in a mess. I've been on 1 mg of klonopin 2x a day for about three years now. It helps out a lot with my anxiety, but I know it's addictive and it effects my tolerance to other medication. I lost my written prescription this month, which means I have to go until the 22nd without it. My withdrawals are horrible with Klonopin; I'm constantly nauseous and vomiting. I can barely sleep and my nerves get on edge. I have no idea where I've lost the script and my dr. Says she can't write another one for Klonopin or any other controlled substance until the 22nd. I'm so terrified of this withdrawals, I can already tell I'm feeling different and it's only been 24 hrs since my last pill. I have some .25mgs of Xanax that my dr. Gave me to try about 3 months ago which is when I went through the klonopin withdrawals before. Is it okay, or will it help with my withdrawals to take the Xanax? Also, .25mgs of Xanax don't seem to do anything for me. How much should I take? Are there any other suggestions you guys could give me to help ease the withdrawal symptoms? Thanks in advance..

Use the Xanax if it gets unbarable, just don't get addicted. Also maybe order some Etizolam. Benzo withdrawels, especially after that long are no joke.

Thanks guys.. I'm a little scared of some herbs, roots, and all natural things because I've heard they can interact with some meds. I'm on zanaflex, Percocet, pristiq, Prilosec, spironalactone, birth control. I think that's it.. I'm tired right now, but not sleepy at all. No vomiting and nausea so far. Thank God. A little agitated and my mentality is a little off; I'm getting words mixed up a lot. Come on 22nd! I need my klonopin ?

If things get really bad I would suggest going to the hospital its not right that your having to go cold turkey especially with benzos they can cause terrible seizures and it lasts a long time.

That's incredibly unethical of your doctor to just leave you like that with no benzos when you are so dependent after being on it daily for years. If it starts to get bad, you need to go to the ER, as benzo withdrawal can be really serious. There is a real risk of very high BP, seizures, etc. You're on a low dose, which is good as the withdrawal would be much worse if you had a larger tolerance, but you still need to take this seriously.

Good luck, man. Be safe.

Keep us updated.

I'm feeling okay right now, thanks for all the replies. I'm not feeling any bad symptoms right now other than just feeling "off" in general. I'm annoyed at my doctor. I just could even understand if I had a script filled and lost pills, but I know my doctors can tell if my script has been filled. I live in a small town. She keeps telling me she can write me any other script, but it can't be a controlled substance. I have no idea what she could write that would help that isn't a controlled substance and she doesn't either.

^^
well it's only been 24 hours, you wouldn't be feeling sick yet. If you were on alprazolam or something you would be, but with something like clonazepam, which has a very long half-life (average 35 hours), it takes a few days, sometimes even longer if you're on a high dose, for the withdrawals to really get bad.

Makes me cringe thinking about waiting till the 22nd to get your pills that's so harsh.
The worst has yet to come I'm sorry to say but remember this is serious if you feel weird or anything then get somebody to drive you to the hospital don't drive yourself or you could crash while having a seizure the hospital has yo help you. I've seen it happen many times in detox somebody coning off benzos or booze they seem fine one minute then next they have that blank look on their face and won't talk then their down on the ground and hit their head shaking around

Using Alprazolam makes no sense, it is a shorter acting med, you might just end up addicted to those. Go to a doctor and get some Valium. It is the ideal tapering benzo. 2 mg a day isn't too bad. You could start at around 40 mg of valium a day and just cut down slowly form there.

I can't have any controlled substances. My dr. Will not write it. I've looked everywhere for my medication. Xanax is the only thing I have. I'm eating everything around me right now and I have a horrible sensitivity to light. I'm so terrified of seizures, thankfully I'm rarely alone. My mom is usually always home with me.

Go to an inpatient detox, and they will taper you off with diazepam. That's the safest bet. If you want off of benzos, it seems to be your only option right now if you can't get the proper meds to taper with on your own.

I don't want off. I can't handle my anxiety without them. I'm just having to deal until I can get another script on the 22nd. I don't want to check in anywhere either. I've admitted myself to the psych ward before with my suicidal tendencies. Detox is too expensive

You do know there are many ways people can help you deal with anxiety, that won't result in seizures when you stop taking your meds.

Living life in a drug addled anxious haze is also expensive, in its own way...

I've tried years of therapy, herbs, roots, teas. Right now drugs are my choice of dealing with anxiety, which is one of the easier health problems I'm dealing with. I didn't just choose to stop.
