Same. When I was reading it (on my Kindle) she kept asking what it was, so I tried to describe it and she got upset.
I remember reading Ham on Rye for a book report in HS, I'm pretty sure that was the first book of his that I read. So great. That and Portnoy's Complaint are a couple of those formative books from that age. Like, yeah I'm fucked up, but I could be worse. And not in a, starving in Africa kinda way, just in a, way more neurotic or self-tortured kinda way.
