A goodbye to Tom/pontifex01

Yes, it was an example of what should not be said if one has any tact in mind. I apologise if I gave the exact opposite impression.

... & I'm with Snolly, theological discussion & poetic hole-picking should perhaps be best left to threads where there's less danger of causing offence. Fairly simple really. Wonder what some people find so hard about it, it's hardly calculus...

Anyway, for the sake of keeping the peace, I'll just wish Pagey the best & dedicate a few minutes of my Friday evening in thought to the ones we've lost here & will try to resist getting picky in this thread again & leave it...

Sorry, but you're being a fucking dick.

I must be reading a different poem, because the one I just read blames the moon. But anyway...

swedger I'm not quite sure where you got God from as my poem had literally nothing to do with him but thanks for agreeing to pleasepleaseplease keep this a civil thread.

Erm, wasn't this the reference?

There's nothing out there but the moon.

It grins at us all and masquerades
A benevolent figure, apparently, shining on us all
So then why did it take him away

There's no fucking answer out there.
.

The benevolent figure? "apparently, shining on us all?", "Why did it take him away"? Thats be supposed to be aimed at God, No?

I appreciate that the focus of the thread is not theological critique but appreciation to a close friend you have lost. And emphasis on the former is disrespectful to you and your grievance.

No, you're being a "fucking dick" by coming out with such a puerile response just because he spoke out against your buddy's inappropriate comments.

No not really, though I get why you'd think that. I never had God in mind cuz I've never believed in him. They're general questions.
