Meth -- No Euphoria

I think we answered his question. Stop the meds that may be saving his sanity and life. Use meth and triple your problems. Or accept the fact you can't enjoy meth on anti psychotics ...

How is this harm reduction telling the man to get off anti psychotics he may need for a mental health issue just so he can bang meth?

Cause he is talking about shooting upwards of half a gram of meth with a reported low tolerance. Better off just stop taking that garbage antipsychotic and just get high from 50mg while hearing voices, i guess.

^ that right there is very bad advice and we know it! the pooro guy suffers hallucinations when he doesn't take his meds. If they truely are changing his life for the better and he is letting a meth craving ruiin all that.and is being told by people like us to get off that poison prescriptions just do meth, where his hallucinations will come back along with the meth induced psychosis and his diagnosis flaring, he wouldn't be safe In my opinion. That's the most cruel. Advice i can give him. If he chooses not to listen that's his fault. We at least can have closure knowing we gave him the right advice as far as harm reduction: stay on your meds if you have severe mental diagnosis as it is. Poison or not In his situation the benefits may outweight the risks. Going back to your hallucinations and withdrawl from the medicine plus hardcore meth use is a recipe for disaster I wish you the best of luck. I don't know your life situation but is it worth losing everything over a drug that can make anyone lose everything . Mental illness or not. I don't condone in your choice and highly advise you seek help

As much as we want to think we are, at the most , fake pharmacists...my family Always jokes and calls me doctor mike cause I think I know it all and what meds I should be on...

The best choice would be to stop doing both. Psychosis cures itself most of the time and neuroleptics will cause permanent movement disorders (dyskinesias) and are known to directly shrink the brain from atrophy. You are clearly only informed about the recreational ones... They used antipsychotics on dissidents in soviet Russia for fucks sake.

Anti-psychotics cause brain damage...?

Would being on abilify 5mg for a year and 10mg for a little less than a year have caused me to get brain damage..?

I will say abilify definitely seemed to help wheb my depression was bad. Definitely felt more calm..obviously.

I take both haldol and adderall. I can't stop either one for various reasons.

I would listen to a doctor before taking any medical advice off of bluellight, I highly doubt we have a licensed Physician, M.D. on this thread.

No, the "psychosis" preceded the meth use.

What difference would it make? Are you gonna diagnose him and justify his
Meth use to be okay? If your on anti psychotics , I would stick with those lf you suffer auditory hallucinations regardless if it's from drug use jn the past, your mental health and being is more important than meth. I'm just an overly sensitive person and emotionally and mentally I can't handle smoking meth or snorting it let alone shooting it. You will for a fact make your psychosis skyrocket
Good advice. Thank you. I think you're right: best leave meth alone coz for one thing it doesn't work well with anti-psychs, and it's addictive, and it will exacerbate my condition.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll just stick to my opiates.

The effect is exponentially worse with high doses over the long term. If you ever experience ticks or involuntary movements then you should stop immediately because they are a sign of brain damage and become permanent if you keep taking the drugs. You will likely be fine as long as you do not plan on staying on them forever. If the alleviation of depressive symptoms allowed you to accomplish more with your life then it is unlikely you have suffered damage unless you have the above symptoms.

I think it's fair to sag were over reacting with these medications, those side effects are very rare . I was on seroquel every night for. 3yrs when I was in prison for sleep, I never suffered tics or any of that . And I been off seroquel for about 5 years . Abilify is fine to take at a low dose in combo with anti depressants . The goal is to eventually get off them , to decrease long term side effects, when they say long term were talking 5-15yr range of chronic use...I'm against ssri snri meds myself but if it helps people I'm glad. Can't be more harmful than the shit we do all nite (ya feel me DankOpi :) between the speed I do and sleep deprivation , depleting my brains natural chemical over and over again has to be healthy and I bet 1090x worse than a therapeutic dose of Abilify or anti psychotic for someone who needs if! Outweigh the risks with the benefits !
