Colo. launches $1M 'Drive high, get a DUI' campaign

I think the fairest course of action is a roadside physical impairment test (something like this). If the driver passes, they should be free to go. If they fail, only then should a drug test be allowed.

At the same time, anything that takes cars off the road and gets people to use public transportation, bicycles, feet or keglins is fine by me.

State v. Latta, 126 Ohio Misc. 2d 1, 2003-Ohio-5952 -- Defendant reeked of marijuana when pulled over and was found to have THC metabolite in his blood. But court concludes this did not prove he was under the influence of marijuana at the time he was stopped. Presence of THC explains, but does not predict, motor impairment, since it remains in the blood for days after ingestion of marijuana. ...

If you look at the video they have a test that measures blood levels that seem to reflect the concentration in the blood with a range that dissipates rapidly enough for me.. so really do we need to be driving blazed? Im mean they were all coming down nicely after just just an hour or so. why not set the limit equal to an over all effects study places alcohol at .08 that should allow is to all get blazed nicely and still drive.

There was no corresponding increase in accidents with the increase in stoned driving incidents. That says it all. It is not a sedative, it doesn't have the same effect on muscle coordination.

It's a terribly way to portray marijuana users, but the intentions are entirely valid.
Many people say they are not worse drivers when stoned and I can believe them, but I know for a fact I am a far worse driver when I'm blazed

Good day everybody. Let's be real here. Those of us who have invested time in consuming Marijuana for all the correct reasons, and actually training our selves over time, while using Marijuana, are not the issue/problem here.
Speaking only for myself here, I have certain standards in place. When I have Marijuana in my system and I am at a therapeutic level, I am comfortable and confident that I can do important tasks safely, versus just blazed, am high as a kite, couch locked,or I am unable to think because my mind is currently frozen. At that point I treat it as the inebriated level, all across the board. All of what just stated was speaking only of Marijuana use.
Now, I cannot quote statistics here, but from personal experience, the majority of users of Marijuana I know, use a medication that is prescribed from a doctor, like clonazepam , or Adderall , etc, or the classic beer and smoke, or something else that would effect your ability to do potentially dangerous things like drive.
To conclude this post, we as consumers of this wonderful, God given medication, need to adapt and help educate others in regards to,this is a drug that needs to be treated responsibly.
A higher level of thc from chronic users does not necessarily mean impairment.
Recreational use DOES NOT mean irresponsible use.
Minors should not have free access to Marijuana. Medicinal use under doctors care, are exempt.
Withholding a safer, medically supported, relatively low cost alternative to prescription medication, is morally IRRESPONSIBLE.
Thank you fellow Bluelighters for allowing me to post my opinions.
