For those who like to drink on weed, does eating it change that?

Let me explain my thread title:

So, I love weed, and I love alcohol. Actually, my favorite combo in the world is several glasses of really good Italian Red Wine (my favorite being Montepulciano D'Abruzzo) before I even smoke, then smoking, or these days actually often vaping some good weed.

Thing is, I find that if I smoke when I am not drunk, it's not only never as good, but I tend to get a lot of very negative thoughts.

Not "paranoia" persay, but I am an anxious person, I take anxiety meds, so I find it happens that I just kind of worry sometimes when I get high but don't drink. Not all the time, but a lot of the time.

But alcohol completely stops that for me and allows me to COMPLETELY enjoy both the weed and the booze.

A while ago I bought a vaporizer called the Herbalaire.

It kicks ass for those who haven't tried it.

One cool thing I noticed, which is especially good for people who can't cook like me and don't really know how to make weed butter, is that after you vape the weed you can just take it out and put it in capsules and swallow them and get high as shit.

So I did that, and I LOVED the high, perhaps more than vaping or smoking.

I didn't get any of the "jarring, anxious" effects I get from smoking or vaping and in a way it was a lot like taking Percocet or Vicodin but more mental.

I've also eaten weed in brownies and I think it usually was kinda similar but it's been a long time since I've done that.

So....my question is: for those who are like me who get anxious on weed alone and therefore prefer to drink with it, have you ever experienced less anxiety from eating it, and therefore less desire to drink on it??

It would be nice to find this is the case, and I'll surely experiment more at some point in the future, because I've gotten fat and had to lose the weight several times when my weed binges have led to booze binges. That ends up being just too many calories...

I don't get anxiety per se but I think I know what you are talking about.
I generally like my weed without alcohol, but if I drink (won't happen much) I like to smoke with that.

I think the fact that eating the already vaped weed is without much anxiety, is because you already vaped the THC out of your stuff, leaving mostly sedative/anxiolytic cannabinoids behind in the stuff.

Eating cooked weed is a whole other game IMO. I compare it more to low dose mushrooms than to vaping weed. As I said, I don't enjoy alcohol that often, but I really can't imagine drinking while on oral cannabis.
Low dose, maybe, like 0.3grams in a brownie or sth. Definetly not above 0.5gr, at least for me.

Enjoy your trails !

Agreed that cooked pot food is more like VERY low dose shrooms.

Your theory about the vaped herb might be right and I have question for people who know more about different strains and who may live where it's decriminalized/legal:

Are there REALLY anxiolytic strains of weed?

If so, what are they?

I never have a choice over what I get being in a state where it's totally illegal.

I still love to mix weed and booze though, ESPECIALLY red wine.

I am not sure why, but I bet someone who knows chemistry/biology of drugs more than me would have an explanation of some kind of synergy with red wine and weed.

Sometimes it's even better if you heat the wine up as the vapors go straight to your head (kind of lack mulled wine). (Actually, I'd like to figure out a way to steep weed in Red Wine and make a super potion...anyone else ever do this??)

The headiness and warm feeling from the wine so perfectly complements the herb, not to mention the taste of wine being even better when high.

One of my best recent memories of this combo was watching Dario Aregnto's Phenomenon while high and drunk on red wine.

I LOVE Argento and Goblin (does the soundtrack for some of his movies).

With the beautiful colors he uses and scenery from switzerland in that movie, plus the music, plus mental experience of enjoying the movie, plus head high, plus taste and smell of wine and weed it was like a full body experience!!

I'm a medical patient in Southern California and in my experience I've had success treating anxiety with sativa heavy strains. Jack Herer is my go-to strain if I'm looking for anxiolytic effects, followed by other sativas including Sour Diesel, Northern Lights, or Durban Poison.

IDK it's all the same to me
Eating weed just makes it last longer
Still the same drug, THC

All weed definitely is NOT the same.

You must not have experienced many strains of weed or hash or keef.

I find the high from eating cooked pot to be noticeably different, but more than that it's ENTIRELY different if you eat vaporized weed.

Also, doesn't really matter that it's the same drug in THC, not only in that there are different strains but also in that method of ingestion changes the effects.

Vaping is different from smoking is different from eating weed made with pot butter is different from eating vaped weed.

All have slightly different effects.

I mean, do you drink?

If so, you never noticed that red wine gives a different buzz/drunk than beer which gives a different drunk than Whiskey which gives a different drunk from Vodka??

Gotta pay a little more attention man.

It can be a lot of fun to experience the subtle differences in even the same classes of drugs.

Take the time to smell the roses and enjoy more than just the sense of being high in general.

Difference between C. indica and C. sativa:

Cannabis indica has a higher ratio of CBD:THC compared to Cannabis sativa. Cannabis strains with relatively high CBD:THC ratios are less likely to induce anxiety than vice versa. This may be due to CBD's antagonistic effects at the cannabinoid receptors, compared to THC's partial agonist effect. CBD is also a 5-HT1A receptor (serotonin) agonist, which may also contribute to an anxiolytic-content effect. This likely means the high concentrations of CBD found in Cannabis indica mitigate the anxiogenic effect of THC significantly. The effects of sativa are well known for its cerebral high, hence used daytime as medical cannabis, while indica is well known for its sedative effects which some prefer for night time use. Indicaplants are normally shorter and stockier plants than sativas. They have wide, deeply serrated leaves and a compact and dense flower cluster. The effects of indicas are predominantly physical and sedative. Due to the relaxing nature of indicas, they are best used for non-active times of the day and before bed.

Interesting!

About the comparison between cooked pot food and shrooms, I get extremely high from a smalll dose of weed milk (made by boiling the leaves closest to the heads in water 3 times [discard] then in milk one time, filter, drink. Just the bottom of a glass is enough for me to be really screwed up, really!), but I got nearly nothing from a full dose of sclerotia (15g fresh).
