I don't know the full circumstances (well, any of the circumstances actually) but banning a grieving man seems pretty unreasonable.

I wouldn't mention BL. You don't really need to mention how you knew him, just that you were online friends and he made an impression. I think I'll ask her about the arrangements anyway.

Don't really understand why Knock was de-modded. Can't justify the SHM ban either. There going to be any transparency here? Any apologies? SHM should have access to chat with people here given circumstances. Callous is one word for it...

i understand that it's a human response, with something like this, to want to find somebody or something to blame but blaming me for knock's death is a new low and it's absolutely disgraceful. you should be ashamed of yourself.

as with his leaving staff, there's a lot of incorrect assumption here. making this thread about your own ignorance-based agenda of hate is a new low. when a bluelighter passes, it's a tragedy and a reminder of the importance of bluelight's mission and a celebration of the lives potentially saved.

for what it's worth, while knock and i occasionally sparred in the public forums, we had a cordial, even friendly, relationship in private. he had a lot of good ideas about process improvement and the site in general although some of his more recent ideas seemed more about simply replacing bluelight that improving it

he told me, when he was removed form staff, that he was sorry that he always enjoyed our interactions and debates and that he was sorry that we wouldn't have the chance to have "fun" with me "engaged in some project".

on his removal, knock knew that he broke a rule which has, in every case in the past, resulted in removal from staff. he took responsibility for his actions and told us that he would accept the consequences. i've had 2 private messages asking me to consider reversing that decision but even knock didn't want it reversed - i believe he appreciated that we dealt with the case by the book and with consistency. he told me that his removal from staff was actually in timely alignment with his life in the real world. i don't know what he meant by that and i'm not going to guess.

he put a lot of hard work into bluelight and he left it a better place than he found it.

my thoughts, tonight, are with him and his family.
