I'm one of those people lobbying to outlaw the automatic transmission. Damn distracted driving and lack of clutch/gear control is a death trap.

Hell yeah, I've only ever had stick shift cars, I love them. Plus it does give you so much more control, especially when the street is slippery.

Fuq yeah! Another one; we're getting to be a rare breed. The first manuals I got into were sport ATV's, but I quickly felt the advantage and fun factor over their automatic counterparts. I've only ever had stick cars too. I honestly cannot be happy with a car without a manual. Finding 2nd hand MT cars is getting more difficult. And while these new sequential paddle shifters may be able to shift in 1/20 of a second, it's not the same as having the third pedal.

I think the roads would be safer if everyone drove manuals. Not only is there more control, but you need free hands, and when you're paying attention to gear/rpm you're paying attention to your driving, even if it gets to be subconscious habit. Most European nations require license exams in a manual transmission car; I think we should follow suit.

The fun factor makes them irreplaceable to me, rowing your own gears is an essential part of the true driving experience.

These things are so friggin cool.

I will. :) Likewise! I dream with you in it recently.

That was no dream Xorkoth ;)

What was I doing in this dream?

Its strange the way people just pop up in your dreams. I dream at least once every 2 months of a guy I went to school with. We had nothing to do with each other at all; I'm not even sure I've ever really spoken to him. I haven't seen him in almost 15 years. And yet he plays a leading role in some of my dreams...

Dreams are fucking crazy.

idk if i trust that stuff

Nor do I. It just feels dangerous. I think it can be defined as a dirty drug given that it effects quite a few different neural mechanisms. I've enjoyed it once, with a pretty high dose consumed over 2-3 hours. I was at work and had a lot to do, and the tramadol gave me some motivation. After that, I am pretty ambivalent towards it. I just took some today because I could...Hmm.

Been listening to the most recent Shpongle album, Museum of Consciousness. I've heard a fair bit of negative criticism of it but I am enjoying it. This track is great-

Now that's what I call bass playing.

Edit: well it is supposed to start at 2min 27 sec.

lol p-sox this comment is direct evidence that you don't live in a crowded city. if you had to drive a manual in serious traffic for one day you would rageface and be like "fuck this i'm never touching a manual again" :D

haha, yeah, lived in a crowded city for a bit. Gridlock stop/go can give the left leg some exercise and isn't too good for the clutch.

Still, despite that I can't stand autos. Even if I lived in a city I'd have a manual. I honestly cannot truly enjoy a car without it. For all the aggravation in gridlock, the rewards justify it.

It's fucked, I really am the other way around. In an auto I rageface at the lack of engagement and control and how shitty the car is because of its transmission.

It's up there as one of my most intense crusades, I.. I... I'm wiggin out here! :D

You have clearly never driven in LA traffic. You're going 60, now 25, shit you need to get over two lanes and there's one narrow opening so you floor it to get through, then instantly slam the breaks so you don't hit anybody/drive through a red at the end of the off ramp. If the freeway is a parking lot you wanna put your brain in sleep mode, and if it's clear you're gonna just wanna hit cruise control at ~75 so ya only have to worry about the break pedal. Not to mention you might be eating, fiddling with the radio, applying makeup, or trying to talk/text without letting the cops see you so you don't get some crummy ticket.

Driving is not always some rural pleasure cruise.

A car is a two ton hunk of metal you use to go places.

1)i have a friend IRL that recently had a seizure from medically prescribed tramadol. He has a past history of drug abuse that may have precipitated it, but he was taking it as prescribed
2)you guys remember that thread awhile back about how LSD + Tramadol = seizure?

1) Idiosyncratic reaction. 2) Combining epileptics is a bad idea.
I'm all for your avoiding it, the more opioids you avoid the better, and who wants to worry about SS-inducing contraindications?

whenever my cat lays on top of me or next to me while i'm sleeping, he shows up in the dream i'm having. its totally uncanny, it happens almost every time. i have a sneaking suspicion that when he does this, he's having the same dream i'm having, and we end up sharing the same dream space or something.

okay yeah that's probably not the case in reality, but its an interesting poetic notion nonetheless :D

Feelin it; 120mg MDMA + 30mg 5-APB down the hatch

Don't you need to sleep? Not that the guy who tries to treat amp induced mental/physical discomfort by taking more should be talking.

Anyway, enjoy! Lemme find you a nice song in a few minutes.

That is something a cat would do. S/he's practicing feline astral projection, sees you're using dream-space and decides to sit in it. Reminds me of the other week, bunch of people sit on the floor in a circle to play a card game, cat comes from other side of room and sits down on the cards.

I do that all the time, except they're dead. Most recently he appeared in a dream as a ghost, and he wanted to hang out and go see some chick he's dating perform in a play. I did not question the existence of ghosts, or that they would be dating living people, haha.

Edit: that sounds depressing, but it isn't, they're happy dreams. It's been a long time, and it's nice that my subconscious cares enough to dream'em up so I can talk to'em.

i wonder wat would happen if i started using SWIM to refer to myself in every one of my posts and ignored all requests to stop doing so

i may try this

would be interesting to see how long i could keep it up before people start saying "man, ol' rog has really fucking lost it this time" :D

i doubt i would have the discipline to pull it off tho

Yeah, I can't say that I haven't taken more amp to treat amp discomfort. :P

Honestly I usually plan this thing out better and dose earlier, I just had a rash of impulse I had to act on. I don't have commitments tomorrow so that's not a biggie. Chances of sleep anyway were slim; I already had some methamp and that stuff metabolizes super slow for me. I really can't take a dose after noon and expect to sleep before midnight.

So I was already bouncing a bit listening to music and figured I'd try my luck going full bore. I also finished my vial of dissolved methamp so I won't be taking more for a while.

Hold me to that PD peeps. I'm more sensitized to it's compulsive side and I want to shut it out completely save for hiking expeditions.

It's almost 3 and I won't get shut-eye until well after sun-up, but I'm isolating the stimies use to tonight and going for it. :)

I've been doing some quick searching and can't find a decent answer without going all academic on it; what's the mechanism of action for MDMA nystagmus? I haven't had it in a long time and I'm curious what causes it.

It's the worst when I go into it for music/movie appreciation, I'll go through what would normally last 2 or 3 days in a few hours 'cause a mix of the above reason and trying to get my headspace just right. This is usually successful (esp. if I throw in a drink or three), but then I'm up most/all of the night and actually have a comedown.

That's how P.O. administration goes.

Yeah, I went all academic on it and had to speculate an answer myself. I did not want to spend that much time researching a drug question I don't care about ever again, but for you I make an exception. ;)

And for your song, I intended on giving you some electro-swing, but I was distracted by science. Now you get this. Excuse me, I need to go to bed an hour ago at the latest.

Aw nkb you are the best :) <3 (you are excused ;))

Nice tune BTW. I'm a fan of Adagio for Strings (or similar type of thing) mixes so good call :)

Well once again I see my pattern of self destruction. No meth is good meth for me; it just fucks me over. Even when I thought I was high, deep down I was just tense. I now see a certain worth in staying away from it; for myself.

Right after taking this I decided to 2C-Bify things and as Laika said, it does make for a nice transition :)

The downside with taking it so late without a full dinner behind me is hunger, which I succumbed to, so now I'm eating cheese and crackers and sipping a beer. Next time I do this combo I'll take MDMA around sunset and 2C-B around midnight.

Old Simpsons episodes has got to be the best non-drug sedative there is.

"At first I thought prohibition was a good thing. People were drinking more and having a lot more fun, but without beer prohibition doesn't work." :D

edit: Huh, riddle me this; if it weren't for drug prohibition would we have formed what we have here?

I say thank you to drug prohibition <3

No way, I still love it even on steep hills and crowded traffic. Once you drive it for a while it's not more difficult than driving automatic, it becomes effortless.

Two times of note this has happened with me... one time my cat was the central personality in a dream, and when I woke up she was sitting curled up in my arm, looking at me, and in the dream she had woken me up as well.

Another time I was having a seemingly prophetic end of the world dream, and at the end when existence had malfunctioned and things had gotten really weird and terrifying, suddenly this archetypal image of a cat coalesced and started urgently meowing at me, and it started to wake me up. When I came away, my cat was sitting on my chest, staring intensely into my eyes.
