So I have been taking about 4 mgs of klonpins a day for the last 6 months plus I get 90 mg of xanax but I normally finish those off in a week. My problem is my insurance is running out so I only have 2 more months of refills from my dr. I was going to explain this to him and try to get rid of the xanax since its such short acting and have it changed with valium and and just try to slowly working my way from 4mg to 3mg every couple of weeks and so on until those run out and if need be i can then use the valium because from what I have read I'm going to probably want to span this about 3-4 mgs of tapering off. Any thoughts? Thanks.

christ that is a lot of xanax
Not really. It only really only effects me at this point with larger doses mixed with alcohol. I could easily eat 30 mgs of xanax and carry on with a normal converstation until you mix it with booze. then im just a drunken mess. I am already going through withdrawl effects from the 4mg of kolplins. that I take as prescribed to me.

if ur taking for example 20mgs of xanax a day, you can take 15mg of klonopin and get by without any harmful physical wthdrawl effects. klonopin is very potent MG to MG than xanax, and is the best tool for tapering xanax

most anti seizure medications can help with the withdrawal and tapering of benzos. Without having to take another benzo like the post above suggested (yes im aware clons are used for seizures too, but it IS a benzo). Not a fan of using the same class of drug that your withdrawing from

Wasn't really an informative post.

ANY gabageric will stop the withdrawal symptoms of benzos, but tapering with bourbon is a terrible idea (not that you mentioned it). What drugs are you talking about?
