I always find that the inherent sadness of some chords is due to the dissonance.

For anyone that has DVR- right now the history channel is playing a documentary about the soul and it's possible connection with OBE's, technology, medicine, and even psychedelics.
 
I love E and E minor...I don't so much write with those chords myself but most of the musicians I play with are blues background..and most of the music I listen to (grateful dead, Jefferson Airplane) play in E so it is where I feel most at home. I like C maj and G maj for my own songs if I am in a poppy mood but these days I am content to play to other people's music, I think I have learned more about music in the past couple months fucking around in the key of E and E min than I could have in years of school.

I remember when that channel actually had history related content. That was back before WWII and Hitler took over everything for a number of years. Then came the aliens/conspiracy-theories, entertainment based shows, and other shit like this. It's like teaching creationism in a biology class.

Not to say that this sounds like a bad program, it's just being presented on the wrong venue.

Usually when I'm playing, it is the bass...but it is rare that I am only playing one string at a time...I make it a goal to ring at least 4 or 5 notes in a bar so I am essentially playing a really baritone rhythm guitar...and and concur that Emin9 is a good one to ring. This recording was from way back in July and I've since come a long way in playing the bass in a manor that doesn't sound like the usual boring bass guitar...you can hear at 1:00 and onward me trying to aim for what I am describing. I've come a long way since this recording, I'll have to get some more recent ones online.

While I'm showing off, this is a rehearsal from the same day as above...my buddy Brad on the strat....and gives another example of the style of bass I try to play.

My bass playing here is really rough..especially because I was used to playing through a compressor at the time and this was without my trusty blue peddle...but it's a fun jam and you can hear me trying my hardest to play like Jack Casady of the Airplane. I love the bit at about 2 min in.

I know it sounds lame, but my go-to drink is simple water.

Other than that; hot tea in winter, iced tea in summer. Earl Grey for hot tea, Chai for hot toddies.
 
so you guys know how its hard for your body to excrete PCP, because PCP can cross both ways through the bladder wall? i.e. your kidneys can push the PCP into your bladder, and then the PCP will just go right back into your blood stream.

well the swelling in my blisters on my feet is going down, and i think there might have been some residual 3-MeO-PCP in the blister fluid that is now going back into my blood stream. feeling mighty funny today.

roger is going to read this and think i'm just feeling the Gabapentin i got today, but i haven't even taken that yet.

how do you guys feel about that 440 hz vs 432 hz thing? its basically a conspiracy theory/ its a little dogmatic so I have a hard time believing it but it's intriguing nonetheless.

from that page: "The number 432 is also reflected in ratios of the Sun, Earth, and the moon as well as the precession of the equinoxes, the Great Pyramid of Egypt, Stonehenge, the Sri Yantra among many other sacred sites."

the egyptians didn't know what hertz were :) hertz as a unit measures cycles per second... a second is an arbitrary unit of time invented by humans. even if 432 is a sacred number, that doesn't mean 432hz is an ideal frequency any more than it means that 432milliliters is the ideal beverage size.

If anyone has seen that youtube video that "prooves" that 432Hz is some higher form of tuning, the reason for the illusion is that the first version of the song is what our brain tunes itself to. If you were to swap them and play the 432 one second, it would sound wrong.
