Ex-NFL’s Darren Sharper charged with rape by use of drugs

"(CNN) — Former NFL star Darren Sharper was charged Friday with drugging and raping two women, one in October and the other last month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
The five-time Pro Bowler who became an NFL Network analyst is charged with two counts of rape by use of drugs, four counts of furnishing a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, the prosecutor’s office said.
Sharper, 38, who played defensive back for 14 years, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in a Los Angeles County court, the district attorney’s office said."

Probably a good idea to withhold judgement until we know the facts of the case. They could be talking about anything from slipping them GHB when they're drunk and raping them while comatose to sharing some MDMA with them and then having sex only for them to wake up and regret it the next morning.
 
He may very well have generously shared drugs with some attractive women who took them willingly then yelled rape afterwards when they felt embarrassed about the sex they had. Don't be naive.

From what I have read it looks like he is a flat out rapist. The story went something like he would pick up these ladies. happened in multiple places around the states.. Tell them they were going to a party but that he needed to stop by his place. They would do a shot of alcohol at his place and then they would not remember anything after that. There was couple times where it was two women at one time.. apparently one of the women woke up from the alleged date rape drug while sharper waas raping the other girl. If this is true and it seems to be he such a looser. I used to really like and respect this guy to.

Now it just seems he is a sick fucking rapist.

He allegedly used Ambien. Real life rapists don't actually use GHB as it causes people to stop breathing and die. At this point GHB as a date rape drug is pretty much an urban legend, one the police like to bring up during GHB busts. They call K a date rape drug too. I refer to beer as the date rape drug, hoping that catches on one day...
The shit thing is if i get caught with GHB i get labelled by police and media as a would be predator. Getting caugh with a bunch of Ambien would not even make the paper. There is something wrong here, and it fucking stinks. Glad i don't care much for GHB or i would be pissed. Rant over.

For those saying let's reserve judgement or maybe the woman got too fuckered for their own good and decided to cry rape/cash in.... C'mon. If ever there was a open and shut case, this is it.

It takes a sick kind of individual to do this kind of shit. Money, power, celebrity and the ability to pick up just about any woman these guys want has really nothing to do with it. It's all about the deviant act of taking advantage/having a helpless victim.

Anyone remember the Bill Cosby accusations from a handful of years back? A bunch of women came out and accused him of drugging, taking advantage of them. It just kind of went away. With enough power, you can make that happen. I'm thinking Darren Sharper is short of the kind of pull that Mr. Pudding Pop had/has. Sick fucks. Castration. Double castration.
 
Exactly. I don't get these cases where highly successful sportsmen are busted for raping women; these guys are famous and rich - in other words, magnets for women. I guess maybe it really is a power thing after all: they say rape is more about dominance and control, than sexuality.
 
This is crazy.

Hard to know how to take it, when you think about it a person im this position would never really need to do this but some people are just off.

I havent read into this yet so I got some research to do. Sad to see such a talented player get caught up in all this.
